EOD Specialist - Modern Tripwire

Okay, I haven't started this yet, but one of the 25th figures that I absolutely hate, is Tripwire. I need a little feedback before I start wasting money on acquiring parts...

I want a modern version, and basically based off this, although a little more streamlined and more "G.I. Joe" while retaining his vintage color scheme.

So far, my thoughts are:

Torso options:
• ROC Flash. The vest/high collar would work well for an EOD suit, especially a streamlined, more sci-fi version.
• POC Skydive torso with Pit Commando vest. I hate the shoulder flaps, but with that cut off and the sides painted green to match the figures, it'd work pretty well.

Arms:
• Cancelled arctic Duke (with the snowboard) or POC Skydive. Both are beefy enough, and have a padding that would work well.

Legs:
• Cancelled arctic Duke, or POC arctic Shipwreck. Both have the right look for padding, but if painted right, I think the Duke legs would be thinner and be much more posable.

Head/helmet:
For the helmet, I was thinking of modding the Tripwire helmet with a flip-down faceplace, or perhaps using the helmet from the red-armored movie Captain America figure (with a flip-down shield).

Thoughts? I was thinking olive drab and gray to match the vintage figure, but I could do the desert deco. I have the bomb robot that came with the Wal-Mart set.

And probably using the leg-gadget thing from POC Beachhead.

The collar from ROC Ice Storm could also work, paired with the vest from the Pit Commando.

i think the PIT commando torso vest would look the best...maybe couple that with the high collar from arctic Doc?...thought the Flash combo might be cool...

the arms sound good

i'd go with the Shippy legs

for helmet, it looks like one of the ones that came with the PIT commando would work perfectly

That wasn't the one I was thinking of. Did someone else make an EOD specialist? I see you were thinking the same things though for the most part. I just hate Tripwire, he was such a lazy ass figure. He came out weird. I dunno.

I'm definitely going to have to do something different now, but I didn't even think of that Destro gear. It does make a perfect EOD armor!

I also have this giant Star Wars helmet that I was considering modding to make it into an EOD helmet. I guess I just need to get to work sourcing parts.

The Shipwreck legs do look good.

Also, Eddie, good call on the ROC Doc collar. I didn't want to use Ice Storm for fodder since he's rarer. There were plenty of those stupid Docs at my local TRU (last time I checked anyways) and the gear could come in handy, too for an EOD guy.

Ah, then it is the same then. I didn't remember the Flash helmet. The robot was definitely familiar. So it was NSA's after all.

The only difference is that is more of a visor and the EOD guys have a full sealed helmet (protect from shrapnel etc).
