Didn't 21st century toys make prototypes of the Sheridan?

Yes they did have a prototype.

The Jaguar models 1:35 Sheridan is a beauty.

Just gauging interest. There's a world of possibility out there when you have a friend with a 3-D printer who wants to do something cool with it. Keep in mind I'm the first customer here and it'll take time. I have to make the 3-D model first - which I am told may not be as difficult as I thought. But since I want to make this thing as badly as some people seem to want it, I'll give it a go.

I wish I knew someone with a 3D printer. I'd beg them for an H-13

Bad trout will do that to ya!

The ursine Hershey squirts make a much better tank than the MOBAT. :D

It's funny you mention the MOBAT...

I was trolling on HISS a couple weeks ago and looking at an old thread that delineated which Joe vehicles were based in reality. There was some argument about whether the MOBAT was more of an M-60 or an M-551. I was about to purchase a MOBAT to see if I could convert it, but after careful consideration I saved $10. It's too Joescale to be made into anything. I'd rather start from scratch.

It has vague features from both. You are correct, though, about it being too small to be much good for anything 1:18.

Just like anything, some figures fit better than others. I will take requests on testing to see who fits, if I have the figure. The back bench on the Huey sits a tad low and too far aft, so getting figures in there can be troublesome. That said 5-6 figures in the back/at the doors isn't impossible.

The AH-1W has smaller seats, so you may have fewer options. If I recall correctly I couldn't even get a Huey driver in that damn thing.

Yeah, I'm hoping have one soon, so I need to know what will fit in there.

Females will all be good-to-go. The biggest issue you'll find is in the pilot's (rear) seat, where a lot of figure's heads will be touching the canopy when it's in place.

Other figures that will be a problem is the ones with crap on their thighs. Wild Bill, for example. He will fit if you axe his holsters. Webbing that has hangy-downs on it should be discarded.

Funnily enough, a 30th/PoC Cobra Trooper WILL fit in both the gunner and pilot positions, though with a flight helmet on you'll probably be bumping the canopy in the pilot's seat, the knife sheath may cause you issues, as well. DG Shipwreck seems to do okay, so any combo of his parts should work out. Steel Brigade Delta, and thus any variation of the Shock Trooper buck does alright, again, the less webbing the better.

City Strike Snake Eyes does well in both seats,

Fuck, just broke the TOW sighting apparatus. Night Adder will fly, but no-dice in the gunner's position.

PoC/30th Viper should work.

A final bit of advice, get a crew you like and stick with it. You kind of have to squeeze the front of the canopy to get it to come off, and I'm always terrified I'm gonna snap it in half or break one of the pilot door pegs.

I had no problem getting the 21st Huey pilots into the Cobra...

Too bad you lost another piece of your AH-1...xin loi man. One of these days I intend to turn mine into an AH-1G, but given all the threads on how fragile it is, I'm a bit hesitant to touch it.

yeah I'd be way afraid of doing anything with the Cobra.. It tends to break if you look at it sideways.

Not even that, though that's certainly gonna come into play. It's more the fact that the two models share a general form, and little else.

It's like taking a UH-1C and turning it into a Y. You may as well start from scratch.

It's not like I'm converting a chap mai chopper into a CH-46 or something...

Besides, I need to finish my tracks first, then get back to work on my OH-6 conversion. I'll need some opinions from the customizers on the latter.

I would recommend it.

All the Hueys had that same color, and it wasn't quite "right" to any period color. Probably the least of the historical issues on "Ace of Spades".

If you're inclined they do weather up nicely.

I understand completely.

This one was an Air America bird that was riddled with problems and the price reflected it. She's still on the workbench, waiting for parts to become available or for me to DIY them.

Hmm...I bought my BBi Loach from Smalljoes for around $35 about ten months ago, but they no longer have them in stock. I can't find them at Foxhole Toys anymore either. They had them for a bit more. Sorry to get your hopes up. Last winter I was mulling over both of them. The PTE Loach looks OK in the photos. I bought one at a local Big Lots before they ran dry. Out of the box, the PTE Loach is a joke. The BBi one has some definite flaws, but the PTE bird is like a cartoon next to the BBi bird. The proportions are all wrong and it has some weird random plastic stubs and wings added to it. So if you're looking for something remotely accurate, avoid the PTE Loach. If you don't mind doing some heavy customizing, or if you're just looking for a GI Joe helicopter, then the PTE one will work.

Yeah, I have a BBI NightStalker LB, but I need at least two PTE LB's to escort it because the prices on those BBI's are ridiculous. Send me a PM if you or ANYONE else is trying to get rid of theirs.:)

Ignore all that mess about the Loach. The OH-6 and the AH/MH-6 are as about the same a helicopter as the Huey Cobra and the Super Cobra.

It has it's flaws, but anything about it not being correct to an OH-6 is all reviewer error.

Reviewer error...haha...I know that they are not one and the same. I tend to use the terms interchangeably, which is a technical error. Yes, the BBi MH-6 is not an OH-6. I'm working on converting my MH-6 to an OH-6.

There are still inexplicable flaws in the BBi MH-6.

The PTE bird is still not worth the time if you can find a BBi MH-6 for less than $50.

I'm more irritated with the omission of the following:

- Glass roof panels above the pilot and co-pilot's seats
- The cylindrical divot in the front metal panel (I'm not sure if that's the pitot tube for the bird or not)
- The glass "bubble" below the aforementioned "divot" (not sure if it's a searchlight/headlight)

I'm using highly technical terms here. I've never flown in an OH-6/MH-6 nor am I familiar with their operation. I'm operating entirely off of reference.

The center console of the BBi MH-6 is also non-existent and the seats are almost level with the floor. And yes, there is the issue of the skids.

The aforementioned problems with the BBi bird would be common to both an OH-6 and an MH-6.

Oddly enough, the PTE bird did try to simulate the hardware on the nose of the bird, even if they were not well done.

And the weapon planks are correct for the AH-6, which the PTE depicts. Bbi did 2 Hughes birds, neither of which is an AH-6.
