I went ahead and locked it in at AMZ. With the play money worked out it cost way too little out of pocket to not at least get it PO'ed. If I change my mind, I apparently have until May to bail on it, so there's really no risk that I can see.

I also have no place for an oddly colored Duke figure, but I do have a gap in my retro MOC wallpaper 😝. The (not stupidly ruined by the artwork redos :mad:) retro cards make great backgrounds, especially when I already have a modernized version of that character loose anyway.

That's fair. I need to temper my recent discontent with appreciation for everything that has come before. Every good thing does have to eventually run its course, and, while you hate to see it happening in the moment, the line has to be taken as a whole to be a pretty significant success.

Hmm, overall I'm less and less excited with the direction the line is going. Designs getting weirder and quality slipping while prices continue to rocket up = not great. I suppose we may never know if the quality/price issues are at least partially a result of uprooting and moving production...

It is definitely that. I get them wanting to add some original stuff to the line to "make it their own," but never at the expense of the original, beloved or at least well-regarded content. Seems like somebody's creative leash has gotten a little (or a lot) too long.
