Aluminum tubing from old rabbit-ear TV antennas? I've used them for gun barrels before, and you get several different sizes of tubing from the one antenna. A little pipe cutter like this is invaluable.

Love all the gear on her. Cool colour scheme too. Her eyes are a bit "asymmetrical", but not bad for a first attempt. I can attest to the difficulty of painting 1/18 eyes. Your skills will improve with practice, and this is a good start. :)

I wear glasses too. When I made a self-custom, I took the lazy route and just used a Wild Bill head with the shades already moulded on. :) Some of the Spylounge/Agent Annika figures come with neat scale shades. As for glasses in the style you want, you may have to take K-T's advice and make...

Is it durable or does it scrape off at the joints?

I use Games Workshop's "Kommando Khaki" as a base coat, wash with "Devlan Mud" and drybrush with "Bleached Bone". The paint is a bit pricey (AUD$6 a bottle) and the colour names sound ridiculous, but they're the most readily available to me.

I assume the Tamiya paint you use is acrylic? The Dullcote is lacquer-based, and could be reacting to the underlying paint. Have you used this combination of base coat and sealer before? EDIT: If you are indeed using acrylics under the sealer, be sure to let the paint fully cure for a few...
