I make my own washes. The Michael's acrylic (Applebarrell maybe?) will work. Just water it down. Might want to practice on a crap figure till you get the thickness good. I always try to err on too watery instead of too much paint. Doing a second wash is easier than stripping paint. I have...

Very addictive hobby. Might I suggest focusing on washes and drybrushing first with painting. Neither requires a steady hand, just a good eye for color. Wash first, drybrush second. They really make a figure pop.

It has started. Taking photos always leads to wanting better backgrounds. You'll be a dio maker before long. I like the background ninjas in the first pic. very cool.

Took my son to Target a little while ago. The Hasbro rep was right. Avengers Assemble figures are on the shelves, but not the ones shown at SDCC. There were these small card 5-point articulation AA figures that had knees bent like the old school pocket heroes-Comic Action Heroes line from the 70's.
