1/18th Scale Custom Helicopters

I have added on a lot of extras and Detailed them. The ah-1Z was really fun to make. But I need to add some exhaust coolers.With the contures on the Cans it will be a real challeg to make andI am looking forward to it.

It really was not that hard to do. You start off with the 21st Century Cobra Then you take a single sheet of styrene 1/8"thick x2 cut out your blades in one piece then your 2nd sheet then glue them together. then you shape them and make the hole in the center. then make your prop shaft. After that you have take off the existing armament wings and do the same thing you did with the blades cut to size and shape then make the sensor pod from an acrylic ball I know I am making it sound easy its not that hard just time consuming.

His description on what he did for the rotors DOES have me contemplating doing a 4-blade system for my never-ending Huey custom, though.

If I could find the sheet styrene he mentioned I'd seriously consider it.

Actually I had to Remake all the armament wings from scratch. Made all the hellfires, Made the Sensor Pod. I have the chaff and flare dispenser that goes on the sides beneath the pilot I just need to put them on and I need to figure out how to make the exhaust cans.

What about the canopy, the way the fuselage flares out forward of the countermeasures (it appears to be more pronounced on the starboard side, which we don't have a photo of on yours) and the LORAS? Then the doghouse is different.

Sometimes being a rivet counter sucks.

When I made it the only pics I had to go on were from the prototype I am working on the flare and chaff dispenser now. Also you will notice the production model does not have the verticle tail fins.
