who will be the first to turn the new c-130 into a p-3 orion

I was just thinking about this. If you cut the wings off the new true heroes c-130 and left the top piece of the fuselage in its place and then put the wings much lower on the fuselage, it could be a good P-3c orion. Of course it wouldn't be as simple as it sounds from the post, it could be done and would be very cool. I'm really debating doing it.

I'm sure someone wants a 1/18 P-3 and this would be as close as it gets without scratchbuilding it.

Close, yes. But not close enough. I'll actually be surprised if we see more than 2 make it in the haul thread. For $40 I rather see my loot go towards something else. It is a nice toy for someone's kids though. It has a nifty handle I think.

Granted, 40 won't get you much in the scale these days, but I think I agree, Major.

It has been pointed out over yonder that it may make for a fine Osprey conversion.

I could see the Osprey thing working out. Especially since the wings are removable. Makes it easier to work on.

and wings and tail. It'd be way too much work imo, it'd be beter to start from scracth and use the windows and landing gear.
