WWI rifle?

I don't know much about weapons, but is the rifle in this picture a match for what U.S. soldiers used in WWI?

Not really. It doesn't look like a M1917 or a M1903. Looks more like an FR-8, which was a Mauser re-chambered in 7.62 NATO. Here are some links of the weapons:

No, but 21st Century's Mausers looked similar to the 1903 Springfield.

I'm surprised there wasn't a 1903 or 1917 ever produced. They were fairly common in the begging go the war, especially in the Pacific.
