Here is a photo montage I made.. I REALLY REALLY wanted to use some of the awesome Bruder 1:16th scale trucks with my figures.

It was not meant to be.

I think #3 is my favorite.

Some of their prop shit does, but not the bigger stuff. Why in the hell would anyone make 1:16?

Because 1:18 really is an American thing. That and the Germans don't give a fuck. Hell, there may be 1:16 figures in the Fatherland.

The area Tractor Supply Company has some 1:18 oldschool tractors and a 1:18/16 (i don't recall) Bobcat front-end loader i'm tempted by.

this is why Ertl sucks. My mother in law works for a local John Deere/farm implement company and gets a HUGE discount on everything there. (I got my riding mower super cheap) and they have a shit ton of ertl stuff.

but it's all 1:16.

If it was 1:18, I would be buying that crap all day long to militarize it since they have construction equipment too. I guess Ertl thinks little boys who play with their toys don't have any action figures that are 4" or don't care that they are out out of scale, as long as they fit inside.

With the Bobcat it's not really an issue, just say it's an up-sized model. Think those giant, armored front-end loaders the Israelis use.

See, it looks cooler when the IDF paints it tan, puts armored glass and anti-tank missile cages on the damn thing.

FYI, we(the US) also use uparmored construction equipment. I know our Redhorse Squadrons from Hurbie had armor dozers and dump trucks.

KT and Ewok do they have trailers that are 1/16 or even 1/20? Im looking for a regular box trailer anywhere in that scale range that isnt like $150+. Something that could represent anywhere from a 40' to a 53' would work

Bruder does a storage container, but nothing on wheels. Never seen a semitrailer in 1:18.

Necrothread - ARISE!

Saw some Bruder stuff in a local toy store - wish I had a figure to compare, because the stuff I saw (including a semi truck with flatbed - this one, I think) looked really, really close to 1:18.

Earth-moving equipment might actually work well with 1:18 figures.

Very true. Given that earth moving equipment comes in so many different sizes, it could very well work. For expample, if you get a dozer, it might be a D6 in 1:16 Bruder scale, but just looks like a D8 in 1:18 scale. No one but a professional excavator would notice or care.

Yup!

I've always wanted to do an armored Isreali D9

How big are their shipping containers? I was going to construct my own, but if they already exist there is no reason to.

Not sure what ones KT was referencing but here's a few. Not sure about the sizes though:

Those look cool and you can switch out the doors. After going through their site they really have some way cool stuff.
