Building a dio building. The idea is to have a 2 piece building that can be either one 4 story or two, 2 story buildings. Modeling after this building on State Street Boston. Stone on the bottom, brick on top. Stone bands and pillars to tie the two pieces together.

Other features will include being able slide into each level any of the 1/18. Cardboard pop up dios out there; restaurant, lobby, etc... This way a dio shot from outside will also be able to capture action in front and inside of the buildings.

Moving along. A few side projects like these Marauder operator figures (irst time buying them. Cool way to customize. So many better options than back in the day) has slowed progress. Added stone window sills and magnets, pretty damn cool. I like that idea for storage. Ready to start painting then windows, ugh.

Paint is done on this piece for now. It'll need more weathering and blast marks.

Next is the roof/base for the roof parapet wall or alternate brick 3rd and 4th floors and windows & doors. I think I'm going with aluminum frames. Probably wrap balsa wood with electrical tape.

I'll also add utility boxes and downspouts on the sides to hide the seams.

There will also be a 2nd floor

Any hints on aluminum window frames and clear plastic for windows?

So Im going to trick this thing out, inside and out. On the first floor I'm making a hall/foyer with false elevator doors and 2 rooms and on the 2nd floor I'll make 2 separate rooms. All carved up as destroyed.

I cut up my old cobble intersection and road to be separate and interchangeable like my L shape walkway I cut into 3 pieces and with magnets it pulls so tight its as if it wasn't cut.

The joytoy Russian Squad is killer!

My first full scale building and with an almost decades absence.

This is like a training build, lol. Figure I'll do my best to detail it out and try new stuff. The other room will be like a granite or marble tile floor. White with black speckles/marbling.

I ordered that cardboard dinner dio from Extreme Dios. My next building will be based on wrapping that, or any of them for that matter. Seems like they are all dimensional with 12.5 inch panels.

Still dreading windows on this thing.

That’s just crazy talk, but the outcome is impressive.
Thanks PCS,

I went with 2 distinct floors. The granite/marble floor was easier than I thought it would be. Look at my counter top, lol.

The black wash improved the hardwood floor better than its photographing. Im afraid to do one one the white tile. Maybe real thin with paper towel at the ready.

Going to add a magnet to the dividing wall. Figured I'd create some type of opening between the rooms.

Got the extreme dio bar set. Pretty cool. Folding furniture is kinda lame but it can be made to work. I wish I thought of making the building to fit these sets in before I started. My build is a few inches to short but it I take an end wall (magnitized and removeable) off I can make it work. My next build will be made to slide these sets in

So to get the aluminum frame look for the windows I wrapped balsa wood with electrical tape and then painted flat black. Also working on framing out false elevator doors in the 1st floor foyer

Window frames are done. Now I need to find a clear plastic I can cut up like broken glass.

Glad I made 5 separate rooms. Each room can be photographed from four different angles/directions.
