back in 09 was it? when we first recieved the resolute figures, duke came with these legs, that were half good. what i mean is, the lower legs, knee pads and thighs were great, but, that damn molded holster ruined the thighs for me.
fast foward to the resolute joe set we recieved last year i think it was, all the joes had these damned legs. totally ruined the figures for me in my opinion, i think a bit more thought could of been put into em to make em better. well, i did a custom awhile back, probably the last one i painted( i just mock em up and let em sit for when the times right to paint em now a days. ) i used the res trooper thighs with the res duke lowers, they look great.
anyway, so we get these sets and i am plagued with this molded side arm in the holster, and it bugs the shit out of me, ( i'm kind'a glad, i been constipated for some time now). so i look at the snake eyes that came with it, and we have recieved this snake eyes multiple times before, his thighs and knee pads are dope as hell, but the lowers are to dreadnok looking for me. so this figure out the set just as with the stalker are useless to me, and only want snake eyes legs and stalkers turtle neck and lower legs and web gear. so i decided to put the lower legs on the snake eyes uppers, and god damn it, it worked, it looks great, as if i was staring at myself in the mirror.
my question to myself is and just wanted to share it, why the hell didn't they use this combo and just can the thighs with the molded side arm and holster?
seriously, it was a let down when we first recieved the first duke, why would they continue on with this part and not utilize something else that would compliment the figure rather than use something that would hinder it?
so if you are like me, and like the res joe set, but think they need a little something to make em better figures, perhaps you should give this a try.
btw, as i opened my res set and took the duke out, the damn right arm snapped right out the package, and since there is no trading parts thread, or bst threads, i will ask here while i'm on this subject, i'm looking for the res set duke torso with arms, so if anyone is willing to or looking to get rid of one, pm me. im a stand up guy, and have a long list of perfect trades on the tank, and anthony (mb) can verify this personally. so in return, i would only like to trade with someone that is equally stand up and trust worthy (as i'm in fear of being ripped off of course not knowing some ppl here or ever did tades with em).
the point of me making a thread about this is beyond me, it was just something that was on my mind.
