Ramen figures are also very spendy. I think their Top Gun pilots were like $80/ea, so I really hope that was "growing pains pricing" and that their Dukes are made more like a "figure company" rather than a vehicle company that makes a one-off figure or two. If you want a Mauler, I'll make you...

Yep, the front hatches work, and the larger panel comes off, so there is easy seating for two operators up front. In theory there is room for two in the turret, but I'm not likely to try to cram two in there. I have not started on a Heavy Metal per se. A couple of years ago I bought an extra...

The armadillo looks small next to the others, but by itself, it's actually pretty beefy. When you get a dude down in there, you can barely see the top of his head. Duke is driving the one in that pic, but you'd never know it... and I don't think he's even all the way down.

Success! I *finally* finished the missile/exhaust project! Dan, just make sure I have the best address, and I'll get these on the way.

Forgive the crappy shots, as I didn't have my regular studio lighting... but I couldn't resist anyway. Motor pool is getting out of hand ;)

I'm having waaaaaaay too much fun. The white mauler was my prototype, because white filament can be had for less in bulk. If I was going to screw up, I didn't want it to be in a pricey color. The mauler CAD design I bought was well done... but it felt only about 90% finished. Fortunately...

Yeah, I remember the hysteria back in the day. All those "satanic" records. So silly. But I just thought that was a great little bit of trivia. It's super funny how the voice actor says it too.

If you'll recall, a few months ago, I mentioned that I was parsing all of the old cartoon episodes to create voice datasets for all of the characters... well, I found a fantastic easter egg! In the third to last episode of S2, "Sins of Our Fathers", CoCo unleashes the monster from the pit...

Leaked images of the "Dire Hawk"... i.e. a mashup of the Rattler Gunner and Raptor wings. It's basically Michael Keaton's MCU Vulture. As with all things "Dire", this is a hard pass... even when it goes on sale.

GS and HAL arrived today. Haven't opened him yet, but he looks solid through the window. Still unsure about the HAL proportions. Like pretty much every classified vehicle, it's a little oddly shaped after looking at the vintage one for decades. I'll definitely take some pics next to the more...

Oh, I recognized the reference. It's amazing how often that painting is homaged in various media.

The discount train has me picking up another figure I didn't plan on acquiring. Went to target's site to order some sunflower kernels, and they had desert scorpion on sale for $27 (normally $47) and they are also offering $5 off $35 on toys... so I threw in another ReAction+ Viper that was...

Does it have much articulation? For 3.75", there's an 18" 4th party knocked-up version of the Magic Square MP Prime figure that is pretty cheap, and it's got full MP-style articulation.

Oh, they're definitely pointier than the OG toy... I decided to skew them a little more toward "real world", as the MIM-23 is a fairly pointy missile. The '82 toy was more blunt, presumably because of toy safety laws. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ok, I finally got my act together this weekend, figured this would be a good thing to work on while football played in the background. My vision and steadiness aren't quite what they used to be, so my hand-painted "decals" are not going to win any awards, but they'll look ok from a galloping horse.
