Here is my M998 "Weapons Carrier" HMMWV.

It is based on the 21st Century Toys M998 "Hard Top" HMMWV.

Here is what it started off looking like:

I did the following modifications:

* Replaced the front snorkel with a short version from a M998.
* Added 'hillbilly' armor to the doors for added ballistic protection.
* Added Antenna mount * Wire Antenna + tie down.
* Added weapons crates + tie downs in back.
* Overall wash/drybrush for a dirtier look.

This is what I ended up with!

This one was a pretty simple mod job I did off a picture I saw online, nothing too fancy, but I thought it turned out alright. I figured my transport guys could use a little extra armor (This is theoretically existing in 2002, before the uparmor HMMWVs were in wide use).

Based on this:

More pictures below. Thanks for reading, comments + critiques welcomed.. it's how I get better!!

This looks great. Sure, theoretically you could get uparmored Hummers, around 2004 and later, but they didn't just immediately replace all of them, so this could have been fairly late into the war.

Thanks :) Yeah it was just a quick idea.. I actually used card backing from some BBI figure for the 'armor'. It seemed to be the right thickness and I didn't have any styrene or anything.

The picture ones looked a bit rough anyway so I figured being precise didn't matter as much.
