I don't get all the applause Marauder's gets. It's like no one has ever looked at a M134 before.

When I got back into collecting GI Joe in 2007 I wasn't a customizer and was clueless about guns (I still am). Marauder was awesome: attainable, affordable and quick ass gear and guns for for figs. As I got into customizing I started to learn what was possible. So at the time Marauder was it and my tastes changed as my skills improved.

I'd seen miniguns before but not knowing what other options were out there and lacking the skills to do it myself, yeah, standing ovation for Marauder. MJ was delivering at the time others didn't.

I dunno, Marauder vexes me. The curse of knowing more about guns than just what a bunch of 30-year-old file cards say, I guess.

It would be nearly impossible to cast the m-134 barrels separate.

The only way that I can see to make the barrels separate is with the barrel washers.

The discs with the 6 holes that the barrels slide in to align themselves.

I have thought of using brass tubes that slide into the the retaining washers.

Thicker toward the back thinner tubes in front.

You could cast the receiver then the retainer washers , cut the tubes slide them in and start decimating the enemy.

I was actually going to do this for a few Huey mods that I plan to do in the future.

Those m-134s ( Viet Nam era ) do not have the flash suppressor so the gun barrel ends need to be seen.

Ah, the nebulous future. And there is photographic evidence of 'Nam era M134s equipped with M60-style flash hiders.

Why not? Get a nice Suburban or another SUV style truck and make it into an armored CIA style truck.

Even a Humvee would work s one as a support truck. Plus it'll give some variety to a world of nothing but .50 cals on every goddamn vehicle.
Because a technical is not an IFV and an IFV is not a tank. It's fine slapping a M134 on a technical, but more or less pointless on any IFV/APC more advanced than an M113.

The H.I.S.S. is an (lousy) IFV, is it not?

I've got the casting part figured out. I just need to fab some new barrels now.

A: I didn't post it to be made, I posted it for the graffiti.
B: He made it at one time. Which has little bearing on those who want one now.

So I take it there's gonna be an M134 for this thing, to go along with the M2 and Mk 19?

Also, your barrel looks a little droopy.

They make a pill for that: ED Treatment | VIAGRA® (sildenafil citrate) Safety Info

Weird, it was straight as hell (maybe even up a little more) on the hisstank. :D

Not for the pre-order but eventually yes. The only armaments available now are the modded BBI M2 and MK-19. Once we get the pre-order taken care of, we'll start working on some additions. Remember, there's a fig or two also in the works.

Do any of the 1:18 M134's available have separate barrels or are they all one piece? That's my beef with most of them out there.

The ones I made are actually all separate styrene rod...the problem (that Pickel mentioned) is that to get them separate, you need rings with holes in them...I tried a hexagonal styrene rod in the center, but that created other problems, mostly, the obvious rod in the center...and then, there's another issue...the barrels taper...larger at the base than at the flash suppressed end...trying to recreate that was also problematic...

In the end, I just ended up gathering the styrene together and banded them inside hollow styrene rod...looks good enough for me *shrugs*

Can we arrange for pickup at the custom con? (Not sure how much stuff daremo's going to be bringing, and if that'd work)

I have the construction figured out in my head. I just need some time to sit down and work on it.

Yes, that's not a problem.

Do it like like the 3rd party small scale (1:32/35 etc.) manufacturers and make component parts. Sure it becomes a little more difficult for the end user if they fail at lif..I mean rudimentary assembly skills, but it's better than a was of "barrels" on your minigun.

Hey Eddie, daremo has done all the adapters for the Humvee's now...he's past(even better) improvements, and now casting (I believe).
I've decided not to do any more Humvee improvements until winter and give the turrets a chance to fly even better than they have so far.......and I'd like to take this chance to give my appreciation to you all that have gotten any joy from my learning experience's with custom figures, vehicles, and dio's.
I'm not sure how far I'll go with this stuff, but I hope its cool, exiting, and you're there with me on the ride.

Thank you to all that have pre-ordered so far:)D)

Hey guy's,
So the pre order is over and Daremo's working hard on making them right now and will be sent as soon as he is finnished.
I'd like to thank ALL whom ordered, it's been VERY successful and we have the EXACT amount pre-ordered that we thought we'd get. Thanks to you guy's, I can design more stuff for us. This has encouraged me to look more into getting things casted that I design.
As soon as I get mine, I'll paint and show it to you all. They are amazing.

Thanks my brothers,

- Digs

Progress Update:

The first few turrets will be headed off to Digler soon to pretty them up for use and display. Then we'll begin shipping as we fill orders starting later next week. There's a lot of work to be done pulling parts from 4 different molds to go from these:

to this:

Every turret preordered will come with one gun, a set of clear windows, and a single adapter. The adapters and turret hatch will be shipped assembled unless otherwise advised. We're really looking forward to seeing these in your hands!

That's a beautifully weathered Humvee Alex.

And I forgot to mention that I did receive my turret and it's awesome! Chunky and durable feeling. Haven't had time to paint it up though as I've been hard at work on another project.

Hey Alex, welcome to the site brother. Unfortunately I didn't make it for the Maisto Humvee, that being said, there are 5 different ring sizes for 5 different vehicles and I'm sure one can be retrofitted to your Maisto. You need to know the inside circumference of the Maisto and the outside circumference of the turrets ring. If the turret is a little smaller, that's ok cause it can be tweaked. However if you do not have the skills to mount something that doesn't fit, then don't waist your money. I'm also sure that someone with the turrets has a Maisto around somewhere they can take a measurement for ya.

Thanks

Hi Digler, thank you for your response, I am attaching a picture with dimensions in millimentri (mm) we have 2 sizes, the inner diameter of 50mm (where it could directly cut off the roof and even if there were smudges you would not see) and then the outer 56mm (which would then be flush with the roof) ...
I do not need to be rotated the turret, as the model will be static on a shelf.
