Fuchs IFV custom for Cobra

Some times ago i customised some Chap Mei Fuchs APC for my Cobra Desert Platoon. I wasn't satisfied by the result. So i decided to rebuild them completly and adding some details and item. I have remove the tools on the hull mold in, adding new ones.

My other problem is: this vehicle don't have a suspension sytem, because of that when you put it on all terrain, it don't work propelly. No mather i put a scratch build suspension system. To made it i have modify the hull hole for the wheels axle like that it can go up and down. I put springs on a plastic card. When it's done i put an other platic card on the top to close it and like that the springs are pushing on the axle to make it go down.

i do it for the 2 others axles. As i am waiting it s completly dry before to continue to work on the hull, i start to work on the turret.

As you can see you have many holes and adjustment default. I put some putty in it to meke it good. I have also cut the inside hull part to made a new one.

When the putty is dry i start to made the up grade armor, made from some 1mm plastic cards:

After with putty (again) i made the weld line on all the armor plates:

Next step, the rear coffer also with plastic card. the first one with a top and the 2 others open.

I'll be keeping an eye on this. THe way you describe the suspension mod makes it sound fairly straightforward.

If it is i imagine it'll get copied on a lot of PTE Type 92 AFVs.

Very nice! The weld seams to me look a little wide on a few of them, but that can easily be fixed with an exacto.

When the putty is dry, i put the primer coat on the turret:

I have start to work on the inside:

I have make a radio with a part from a Cobra Stinger, 2 cables and scratch build the micro and earphone.

i have search on my parts box to fit the inside.

Also making the seats for the troop transport compartment.

I have continue to work on the turret, i have put the target aiming system from lighter part, the smoke evacuator with putty and the MRS miror on the gun.

So cool, I dig when you guys open these things up and fabricate an interior. Adds so much more to these thing, even to just look at never mind use in a dio.

Don't worry about that, i am making 2 like this and after i have to do the same with the Type 92 APC. I do it for my Cobra Desert Mech Infantry Platoon. Like that i have 2 IFV with a 90 mm gun and an auto 40 mm grenade launcher, 2 IFV with the 20 mm auto gun. A good fire power My platoon have also 1 Stinger Recce 4WD, 1 Stinger Anti-Tank 4WD and an AML 90 Ambush. That's the composition of my Cobra 1st Desert Platoon.

Everything work well, i have also put on the rear a tank like you have on the M113. Very helpful for the long runs on the desert





There where you had the mold in tools, i have put a piece of plastic card. I still have to found the way to create the tools holder like the original model:



I have also received the plastic card for the transport compartment floor. I have weather it a little.







Now the inside is at 95% finish. I have created the dash board. I am waiting from some original dash board pictures from a friend of mine to finish it.

I have put foam to give an idea of different boxes on the rear side before to put the tarp:



Also a small tarp on the gun shield:



As they have put the base for the Tow shackles i have make a hole in it to place my scratch build tow shackles:







As it’s the last version of the Fuchs it has the new exhaust system:

Thank you, it's clear i still have a lot of work on it. And for the camo scheme i am reproducing the German NATO paint scheme but in the desert version
