wotcha folks... brand newb 1/18 meat here..
last time I collected 1/18 figures thatcher was still in power..
never so much as looked at em since till my eye was caught by kit lau's designs..and bewitched, embuggered since then..
so these are me first figs and first customs..
got a LOT to learn...like what paints/techniques are best..specially with th flexi plastic harness n kit..paint rubs off way too easy..
anyway.. criticism n advice welcome..
these two are th first members of an ARW ranger squad..call sign Street gang..troopers hen sho and rattle snake bob..

ta lads...good to meet ye.. been a steep learning curve.. where to buy bits... what bloody bits to buy.. how to psint at this scale but its been a fun one.. need to find some more pouches and a few extra bits for these lads and ill consider em done and move onto th next two...

thanks falcon.. being a noob at this game im haing trouble finding the right kit .. i dont want to buy tons of fodder from th bay ..has any o ye good folk got any suggestions for decent sites or bst`s for buying or trading at all please?

million doller question right there k my man , i have hardly any idea whats out there from what lines .. just know i need kit ! bought some web gear from some of the cast sites but theyre too small .. im looking for belts with holsters , misc accessories like torches canteens etc , i got a bunch of weaponary from the MGR but need ( need mind ) more .. some decent lookin ak`s , m24 , enfield l42
..as50 or th l115a3 awm , m14 .. gas masks! seen some lovely ones on some of th recent joe line , ice axes, climbing harness.. tools .. sh*t onna stick th lists bleedin endless squire .. want to make a medic , mechanic ..lord i gots it bad !
any pointers wouod be grand tiger san

Most of the stuff mentioned is out there. Ice axes and climbing gear would most likely be from a Joe figure, though perhaps from figures that aren't entirely easy to come by. Hasbro will be your go-to for a removable gas mask. Someone with a better memory for Joe items than I will be able to tell you precisely which figures to hunt for.

There are a lot of M14s out there, but none of them are without flaws. Marauders are EBRs (yuck) Falcone's are a bit on the thin side, Bbi's seem a bit small and have a bipod notch, and 21st Century's are XM21 sniper variants, but without the suppressor they look odd (no front sight or flash suppressor).

Bbi did a pretty good M24, and Hasbro did a passable M40. Not technically the same, though similar.

No Enfields of any stripe. There were only a couple of WWII British figures and they both came with Stens.

No AS50 I know of, yet. I'm sure Marauder will do that. I want to say there's an L115A3, I'm not sure who did it, though.

Torches (I'm gonna assume the electric and not the burning stick kind), are out there. Marauder, Bbi and 21st did the angled MX/991 military flashlights, and Hasbro did a pretty passable MagLight-style one. I've got one from Chap Mei, and I'm certain there are hand-held spotlight style ones in the scale, too.

Just about every historical military line had canteens. Dragon's were glued to the pistol belts, but were easily removable. 21st Century's tended to peg into the figures themselves, but were designed to be removable. Bbi's I think were glued on.


The stuff is out there, but aside from Joe stuff there's not a single, cohesive source for it. I'd never suggest HissTank normally, but their Customs Parts Need/Have thread probably would be most helpful in wrangling the Joe parts.

finally finished a custom! its been a real trip hunting down th parts I wanted and trying to balance out what was in my head with practicalities. . would have loved to put a wee satchel in tgere but th ones I had dont hsng too well..

hes bitter, mean and some say crazier than a racoon birthing a
wasps nest..he remembers th world before greed turned into a toxic battlefield and takes out his grief on those that fuck with his.
only bits I know th origin of are th rifle from kwinn ..with a custom silencer and th harness which I think is from poc beachead.

Technically? the Renegades (Amazon boxed set) Snake Eyes and/or Storm shadow are the most articulated. However, they have a slight cartoon feel to them.

Other than those... handful of the latest stuff is fairly good.

I can see me having to buy a ton of parts in.. from what ive seen so far th retalation duke joe trooper and hawk are decent basic figs.. th poc range looks good an all..but by god tryna find em over heres a right pain in th gary..

figured id pop this in here for now...
my WIP acid rain contest entry...
being low on fodder ..especially joe parts.. and aware of th discussion about using ARW bucks
I used th only other fig I have so far...
Im intrigued by how in the ARW verse resources..especially military ones are tasked, reused etc..
I imagine that such things as th telecommunications we take for granted today..skype, interwebs etc would only be for th rich..or th elite forces.. to maintain communication..and morale
id imagine an essential battlefield role would be that of th courier.. so heres a postal scout ..

got a lot of work left on th bike.. may even scrap if I can get summat earlier looking.. I love th idea that old tech would be salvaged, recycled..old museums looted and trawled through
engines converted to bio diesels etc..
searched for 1/18 zundap but so far no joy!

Yeah, there isn't a scale Zündapp KS 750, hell, there's not a proper BMW R12 or R75, either.
