If I were to make a pilot wearing just a standard flight suit using present figures, or figures that aren't too old, what figures or parts would you suggest?

A pilot for what? Helo, jet? I'm kind of partial to my own creation but it might not be what you're looking for, either.

The shared parts of Wild Bill/Para-Viper have the look that makes for a fairly nice G-suit. Wild Bill in OD makes for a fairly convincing helo pilot as well, and all a Shock Trooper needs to be a helo pilot is the correct helmet and maybe a head swap.

Sorry, should have stated "Helo".

To be more specific, I'm looking to make a dropship pilot from "Aliens". They wore a British flight suit, but a Vietnam looking suit is fine. The helmet was a SPH-4 flight helmet with mods. They also wore a Vietnam era flak jacket.

I'm not trying to make it 100% accurate to these specs., "pretty close" will do.

I went and rumaged through my parts last night, I found a Matt Tracker body that has (I think) the same body as Ace except the lower arms are different. My only problem is that he's GIGANTIC! Put him next to most any other joe and he towers over them.

Which wouldn't really be a problem I guess, except I found a Han Solo jacket that would work great as a flak jacket with a little moding, but I don't think it will fit on the Tracker body.

Also, the only really good helmet I have is currently on my Cobra T.A.U. LAV driver, but I may have to repurpose it for this figure.

I use Unimax SEALs with bbi Chopper Harris helmets for my helo pilots.

And those do look great, except for my needs they have too much gear molded on. I need a simple flight suit that I can put an old flak jacket on and a helmet without all the NVG equipment.

Bbi SEALs with bbi Blackhawk helmets that have Wild Bill visors glued into them:

I found the carded bbi Blackhawk pilots for around $4 each, but not sure if they still have them.

I was thinking of doing a similar visor mod, pcs, but the fact that the visor knobs are still in the up position would bother me, for some reason.

Dropship, the helmets you are looking for are the Huey ones, but I don't have a clue how to get them without getting your tonsils checked by one of Eddie's special friends.

You really got to find a Joe collector that has a Huey but doesn't want the figure. The 2nd Generation Huey crewman would be the best choice, as the helmets are removable.

Someone on HT did a flat black "stealth" Huey for his Cobras, he may still have the pilot.

K-that littlebird setup you have is sweet.

Do any of the bbi pilots have only a flight suit out of the box?

K, thank you very much for the offer, but I think I can build one from parts I have on hand that would be more along the lines of what I need.

Fine fighter jockey, not so hot as a whirly-bird pilot.
