Rosemary and Co. brushes

Anybody ever use brushes from this company? Someone told me they are as good as the Winsor & Newton Series 7 brushes which I love, but are expensive ($26 for a brush? Really?? Yeah, I bought 4... ). I placed an order a week or so before I left for the convention and it arrived today. Price wise, they are definitely cheaper than W&NS7 but I haven't tested them yet.

Ihave a hard time paying $4-6 for the ones I get. Lucky for me, the last couple of Xmases I've asked for and gotten a couple brushes, so I'm good for a couple years, lol.

I've tried many different brushes from many different companies. I've discovered that if they sell it in Michaels' or AC Moore, it's crap. I don't like synthetic brushes, to start with, the tips always bend after a few weeks. I prefer pure Kolinsky Sable brushes, but they are expensive. But, I've had some of my W&NS7 brushes for about 12 years and they are still good as new. I don't mind paying good money for good supplies if they will last me. I'd rather buy a $25 brush and have it for 10 then to buy a $2 brush and use it for 6 months and go buy another one.

As in all things, you get what you pay for. Don't think I could ever pull the trigger on 20 dollar brushes, but I'm a skinflint so there ya go.


I can't even find detail brushes at my Hobby Lobby, other than a couple in the variety pack over in the model aisle.

Well, it's not like I have 100 of them. I probably have about 25 in various sizes, tho. And they didn't all cost me $20, because a lot of the sites have various sales and things where you can get $20 off your $100 order or whatever. I order supplies for class every semester and usually sneak 1 or 3 brushes in when I can.

The Rosemary & Co brushes above were much cheaper, in the $4 - $6 range (before the $14 shipping charge from the UK) so if they are just as good as advertised, I may switch over to them and forget the W&NS7 for the time being. Then again, I don't need any more brushes...

Never paid a lot for brushes. Walmart makes a great variety pack with different sized brushes. Of course, I am awfully rough with mine, so I'd be kicking my own ass if I paid that much for brushes.
