Spetz Crimson Cobra Elite Trooper

[SB Cobra Mayhem]

This was originally intended to be a versatile pick a load out custom figure run for the guys in CCE - Crimson Cobra Elite, but honestly there wasn't enough interest due to costs (times are hard these days after all) so figured I would at least show it off before I slang it out the door.
Pretty basic dark urban grey top with crimson trim, felt ruskie so gave him 90's spetz pants and ruskie weapons, had a buddy cast me a helmet so it could have a cusotm red visor to keep theme and well...just look at the pics.

Needs mag pouches for at least one of his weapon options. I think the weathering on the furniture on the aforementioned weapons is off, too. Chipped paint on metal isn't appropriate for wood or polymer.

And I hate the crimson, but I guess it's perfectly suited for the target audience. Otherwise the paint is really good.

I agree and wanted to do mag pouches since I recently got a baggie of them from my cast'supplier recently but decided not to since the biggest driving factor of the original intended buyers was that dirty four letter word, cost. At $35 a piece for just this guy in basic trim was too out of sight for them. I got a few pm's from their members and turns out they were hoping for the more fully kitted troopers I had made before for around $20-$25 a piece shipped on the custom cards I get made, which would literally be impossible lol.
As for the Crimson....ungh, yuckness indeed but hey, I just tried to give them what they wanted.
Weapons, for some reason, people really like that silver dry brushing all over for that 'weathered' look although the said weapons would better be suited with a lighter grey 'dust brushing' but several of the suggestions I got was that "rugged" look *shrugs* Can't please everyone and sadly the more MilSpec I make figures at times, ironically drives people the fuck away. It confuses me but what can ya do?

Kind of, in the last year and a half I was doing back to back commissions and tons of work for others. In all honesty despite being fun here and there, and overall very profitable it was also deeply frustrating and often times mundane. I spent more time giving people figures THEY wanted which is fine, but felt soul sucking to say the least at some points. Especially after the COD Ghosts craze, i'd be one happy bastard to never have to make a Ghost, Juggernaut, or Knife Maniac EVER again lol. I prefer to make things the way I like, washing away 80% of that nasty hasblow feel, giving some milspec/tacticool gear queer feels, weathering etc like the BBi figures, and keeping just enough actual hasbro charm to keep it in the joe universe without it being too far apart from the rest.
Early May I launch my 3rd wave of figures and from then on will only do SOME commissions to avoid the soul leeching suck of having to make random spin off FSS type figures or Eco warriors etc. Not to be a snob, but to be real and keep it real i've been and will continue to turn down commissions if it's just genuinely not something that allows me creativity and more like imprisonment by kitbash and paint.
