So you guys know that I'm slowly working on an Aliens type universe with Colonial Marines and what-not. Now I assume most of you have seen the movie, and when the Marines land on LV426 and go to inspect the colony, there are a few vehicles sitting around. My question to you is this...what vehicles are out there that are just futuristic enough that with a little re-working, would fit into the Aliens universe?

I'm looking for tracked/wheeled vehicles for now, one such option is the GI Joe weapon transporter from 1985. With a repaint, I think it would be excellent. Another idea, Sgt. Slaughters Triple T...just so you see where I'm going.

So if you have any suggestions, even if it doesn't fit the tracked/wheeled catagory but you think it might work, throw it out there. :)

I want to say someone here has/d a tracked vehicle similar to something like a Polaris Ranger. Wish I could recall who.

I think if you tracked (or even quad tracked) a ARAH APC you'd be on the right track, no pun intended.

How about the pulverizer, I have one of them I am doing nothing with. Definitely used but has everything shown in the pic below (not my pic or vehicle just a random pic). If have any interest in it, Pm me, we could work something out.

BF2000 should be lousy with stuff that would work.

I saw it at Big Lots before, pretty sure I know the one you are talking about. It looked like it was made by the same company that does those TRU pirates/Indians, army guys. Looking for a pic too. Pretty sure somewhere on here someone customized it to be a dreadnok vehicle. Footloose maybe?

I'd sho like to get another gander at it.

Of all the google-fu.. to find my own post 4 years later!

----------------------
These are from the "Freedom Ops Network" line of.. things.

They are really more like a 1:16 scale line, slightly smaller I think. Maybe 1:17.

The figures are HORRENDOUS! They are the ugliest set of figures this side of anything. The accessories are not even very useful for Joe customs. AND they are priced @ $9.99 at Target!

I recommend staying away from these figures at ALL COSTS!

The Desert Patrol Vehicle and the Prowler Special Forces Vehicle are not that bad, They are a little larger than 1:18, but work well enough for most people. I actually really like the Prowler, as it looks ridiculous in person.

Hope this helps. Go BBI or 21st Century instead!

O.k., here's the "tractor" used by the colonists...

And another...

another shot of the tractor from above along with a robot "tug"...

And while I can't find a photo from the movie, here is a papercraft version of the crane...

Another crane and a second vehicle of undertermined use...

A 21st century M16 halftrack could probably be made to look like that bottom thing with some work.

Maybe look up some of the Bruder construction equipment, maybe something could be made to resemble those.

Bruder (shudders), while that's a good suggestion, those vehicles are usually pretty expensive.

That last one on the left looks like a general purpose hauler. Along the lines of the kettenkrad or M274.

Man, this Wall-E vehicle/playset would work great...if it didn't go for around $100+ on the secondary.

I think all the Wall-E stuff is 'spensive now. It sure would work here, though.

I like those two vehicles in the eBay link, the Bruder exyending crane would also work with a little creativity.

Isnt there also some kind of alternate looking tank thing at Dollar General right now. I have seen it on a top shelf for 9-10 dollars but never pulled it down to look at it.

I don't know, any idea what the name of the line was?

Hmmm, maybe. I like your thinking outside the box!

A Cobra HISS might also work, one of the ARAH or 25th versions, if the front were boxed up a bit more. Anyone have a broken version of one of these they want to unload for some cash?
