Impregnated by Poseidon and Cursed by Athena for her 'transgression' to forever turn men that gaze upon her into stone, Medusa fled to a cave far from Athens to lament her fate. After seven agonizing months, she birthed a large clutch of leathery eggs all alone and was transformed to resemble her serpentine mother Ceto as her legs fused together into a snake's tail. Waking from her trauma, she felt only a small measure of joy as some of her eggs hatched as her serpentine daughters revealed themselves.

They quickly grew to adulthood, and left the cave to seek their own fortunes; and only then did a larger egg hatch to reveal Medusa's sole son (so far, there are several eggs remaining unhatched), whom Medusa named Ladon.

Despising all men and gods due to Poseidon's assault and Athena's unfair Curse, Medusa raised her son in secrecy and rage. As a male, Ladon was vulnerable to his mother's Curse and was turned to stone as she gazed upon him cracking out of his egg; but being the son of a god he has enough vitality to overcome the Curse in the heat of the day, and so lives a lifetime only in the sun and returns to stone at sunset.

As the son of a god and a Titan's daughter, Ladon is gifted with great physical strength and vitality, and a gazing power of his own. Combining powers from both his parents, Ladon's gaze causes terror in those that see him, and if he gazes for too long or with great anger he will literally freeze the water in one's blood and then be agonizingly paralyzed and vulnerable to his attack.

Ladon is the Ghosts of the Battlefield male body with the Snake Lady's head and the snake wig from the second PostCurse Medusa I picked up, using the Ghost Spartan's weapons. I fabbed up a tunic from 30¢ for an 1/8th of a yard of muslin cloth, and replaced the shield handle with some bracelet cord and added shoulder straps as well.
