I seem to remember that there was a stink about the A-10 Prototype that 21st Century was going to make . As I recall someone stole it under the guisse that they were going to get it painted and detailed. Am I wrong or was this was the case Hmmmm.. Inquireing minds want to know.4af3b8d29f47b118cb6718f05f2a939e--scale-model-st-century.jpg

That's how I remember it going down. Pickelhaube probably recalls/knows more.

Yep I know all about this .
In a nut shell it was loaned out to a one time 1/18 scale modeler /shyster who was to make copies of it .
He said it was destroyed accidently .
This is the same guy who absconded with several 1/18 collectors money .
Their money given to him to do customs

The prototype A-10 was in the hands of the owner of "Skyworks" prior to the company folding. He claimed the model was his and no one had any rights to it. It created a lot of issues with the person who loaned him the model with the idea that he would create production models for those who wanted them. The short of it is that after he refused to return the model upon request he told members on SSHQ that he would destroy the model before handing it over. No one knows the final fate of the prototype. The model pictured above is not the prototype, I recall the modeler and the build.

Skyworks! That's the place. I scammed out of some money after they folded. Bought some parts for my Spotcat that I never received.

I remember those guys and even bought all the fun metal bits for my spotcat. He was actually really helpful and tossed in some stuff (maybe the engine nozzles???) before they began selling them. I had no clue he is the reason we do not have a frickin A-10. Glad they folded now.

So this company laid claim to the prototype and then threatened to destroy it? I think that if I were the one who created the prototype, I'd be visiting that sonofabitch with a few state troopers and get it back.

Dam. So what gave this guy the idea he could just "claim" ownership of the prototype?
