So Jakks Pacific is supposed to have a 2 1/2", 4", and 6" line of Nintendo characters coming out soon.

So far they have only had stand in images for their 4" lines but I am really looking forward to getting a Link figure (or 10). The Mario figures don't really interest me much though.

I did just run across images for their 6" Bowser and DK. So far I am not impressed. I'll have to wait to see these in person.

I am hoping to get some updates at SDCC in a few weeks.

Being game characters, 4" doesn't mean much in the way of compatibility. I won't say they'll be completely useless just yet, though.

I'm still hoping Link will "fit in" with my other fantasy based figures. I have the Twilight Princess one from Japan but the pre-posed action stance he is in really hinders his usefulness.

Here are the images of the 4" line. Link is a little disappointing. I was hoping for the more realistic look he had in Twilight Princess.

Better than nothing, I guess...

I'll still probably get 5 or 6 of that one.

The Mario ones I'll have to see in person.

Link will need new legs or modded, but other than that, he looks decent. I want his sword.

There was also the Twilight Princess 4" line that will work pretty good with this Link.

These are all pre-posed snap-kit type figures but the Princess Zelda figure is awesome.
and the Master Sword is perfect for 4" figures.

I've got the bottom 3 figures. I have plans on taking one of the Hobbit Wargs and re-painting it and modding the head to be Link's shadow form. For Midna, I have one of the regular smurf figures with Smurfette's arms. I'm sculpting the new head with mask and she needs some new feet.

I really hope they don't kill this line before it gets going like so many other Jakks lines.

Saw the boxed articulated mario at Barnes & Noble yesterday. They also have packs with a pipe and other stuff, would be cool to make a little mario scene on your desk or something.

Those sound like the S.H. Figurarts Mario and accessory packs.

I picked up Link at Target during lunch (Atlanta area).
Artic breakdown is:
Ball joint head
Ball/hinge shoulders
Revlotech style elbows
swivel/hinge wrists
swivel upper waist (where the V is at on the sheath harness)
2 way swivel hips (He can do forward and side splits)
single hinge knees with a swivel at the top of the boot. He can bend his knee to sit and the boots can rotate all the way around.
Ball joint ankle. mostly just can be rotated 360 degrees but has some play to move in a front back motion like he is standing on his tip toes.

My secret accessory was his shield.

Mario and Yoshi were also present but they were a lot bulkier than Link. Link fits in pretty good with modern Joes. Mario and Yoshi would fit in better with TMNT figures bulk-wise.

He is a bit more animated that I would like but I'll most likely get a couple and make one of them much more gritty like in Twilight Princess.

Overall he is probably one of my favorite figures and characters of all time.

I'd like to see the Master Sword in the hands of a "regular" 1:18 figure. Might make for a good artifact after a repainting.

He doesn't scale terribly at all, aside from the noggin.

If anyone is looking for these, the CS rep i asked about these said they sent a shipment to K-Mart...

The first series of these figures just shipped out a few days ago to K-Mart stores. Our inventory shows that Toys R Us has ordered the item but they have not shipped out yet. My recommendation would be to check with our local K-mart store. If you have any further questions feel free to contact me.

More pictures and a review in the review section.

If you want any additional pictures/poses let me know and I can add them.

I will also be doing some scale pictures and would like to know what figures/lines you would like to see as the standard for any given line.

I had been using Retaliation Joe Colton as my standard for GI Joe but if you want to see other lines as well I can find some good comparison figures for those as well.

I'll definitely have a MU male and a Star Wars male.

Might pick up some of the Super Mario stuff for my wife, and one of the Samus' for myself.

And she'll probably want the Fox McCloud too, now that I see it.

She is a bit taller than other armored humans but still scales okay.
The problem with her though is that she has some odd articulation especially after how good Link was.

She has swivel shoulders that are at odd angles and there are 2 cuts, one on each side of her shoulder pads. This causes problems when she raises her arms up. She ends up with her arms in an X over her head.
She also has V hips and only swivel ankles.
All in all she is an okay figure but they could have done much better.

Toys R us has them at $9 and Target had them at $7.

The Deluxe ones usually run $15-16 (if you can find the good ones)

The 2.5" ones are $4. They are at Target Toys R Us and in the checkout lanes at Wal-Mart.

I'm definitely getting the shyguy, bullet bill and the Skull kid. If i can find the pickmin I'll get those too.

I've been eyeing the 2.5" Mario figures to use their heads in customs but I haven't gotten any yet.

As for the next wave of 4" I'll probably get the Goomba and Star Fox.

I've thought about adding some of the 2.5" ones into the Archive but haven't as of yet.

Dredging this back up.

World of Nintendo Shiek. I'm still kind of annoyed they made the OOT figures larger and out of scale with the Skyward Sword Link. Who in my opinion was perfect. I ended up not getting Star Fox due to him being more like TMNT size rather than the original Link.

I want to get some more of the new 4" Bebop figure and turn them into some Moblins.

I threw in Beastman and He-man in for fun.
