Something about this one is leaving me cold. It may be the kit being too similar to Scrap Iron's.

Always saw WWII FF as a sturmpionier, and as such would need some extra gear. It does have me wanting to take up alternate WWII customs again, though. You really should do a tutorial on collar swaps.

Those are swapped on collars?!...wow nice!...I thought he was sculpting them on, which, honestly would be equally impressive...

I figure sculpting one would actuially be less of a headache.

Then again I've yet to do that collar I'm supposed to be doing.

He needs more bombs. Other than that I really like it.

Saving the sturmpionier look for the Baroness which is in the works.

Swaping collars is easy, just cut them off and attach them. I wouldn't do it unless the donor figure is the kind made from the softer plastic.

Start by cutting an outline of the collar and then shave it off. Same thing for the shoulder straps. It could be a bit of a struggle so good knife skills are required. Go slow and methodical (that's what she said!).

I also recommend wearing safety goggles btw, I once got a splinter in my eye from a piece of the X-acto knife that broke off. Nothing serious, but maybe it could have been.

I use to sculpt the collars, but now I've gotten really good at cutting them off. See above comment for tips. The scarf part was sculpted though.

To me, cutting is easier and looks better (at least with my sculpting skills).

Thanks for the info on the collar thing. I'll have to see what I have for Krauts in the bags.

Ya lost me on sturmpionier Baroness. I might believe a combat arms Baroness, but not a pionier.

EDIT:

*watches piece of lapel fly through the air*

Nope, goin' back to 'Nam style customs.

Haha, I realize it's silly, but IMHO, it's central to GI Joe. I think a lot of people forget that when the Sunbow GI Joe cartoons and comics first came out (early 80's), women were not allowed in combat (at least not to my knowledge). Plus. I don't know what a combat arms is...

In any case, I want a hardcore Baroness in WWII combat.

Her character is, but if we're honest there wouldn't be any females on the Joe team, outside of pilots or support staff.

There was a time when I liked the idea of female characters in combat in alternate WWII scenarios, but I reckon I just know a little too much about the historical facts and the roles of women as viewed by the Reich.

Die Baronin in Allgemeine SS service would be a better fit, Sicherheitsdienst or RSHA branches especially. But then what have you got for customs options, really? The same fetish look that exploitation filmakers and pornographers have been doing since the late '60s.

Anyhoo, keep on keepin' on, but switch the StG around on SI, how's he gonna aim with that blind eye? :D

Exactly . . . so tired of that look...

Yup, I remember that one. I did a similar one with that RoC Baroness.
