I agree completely ,and I wouldn't make anything that wouldn't be usable. I move quite a bit so I always go for durability. My thought for the engine necelles was to carve a wooden block to the basic shape for a templet and then vacuform plastic 2 sets and then add resin or plastic for all the details and realism. Back in december at the hangar that my dad works at there was an osprey there for a couple of days for maintenane, so I got lots of pics of it, especially the engines, so I have enough referance material that I could make it look right. As for the fuselage, that may be interesting. I would think the sea knight from chap mei is the way to go, but the rear engne and exhaust etc may be a problem. I'd have to take a good look at it first, as the elevator and rudder would take up alot of that space, but it may be interesting depending on exactly how much it would take up. I could make it work though.
