    G.I. Joe Classified Series (1:12)

I believe you, as I'm sure they're lovely figures... they just don't interest me. I like Joe for the characters and mythos. Generic soldiers simply don't cut it... no matter how nice they are. My gut reaction is 'meh'. I got into non-Joe 1:18th stuff originally because "joe scale" vehicles...

    G.I. Joe Classified Series (1:12)

Bite your tongue! As much as I thought 4" scale was the bees knees, the sweet spot for detail and still having vehicles... it still is. Except the 6" gives us a lot more detail on the figures and have an awesome shelf presence. And now that I'm down the rabbit hole on my Mega Joe project, I...

    G.I. Joe Classified Series (1:12)

We've implicitly known this for the last decade. It's part of being a brand that is expected to have a presence in more countries than our own. TF gave them a taste of what that sweet international market was like, and there is no going back. I don't buy these things for the boxes or logos...

    Real world or fiction?

With the drivers upright in the cartoon, I always thought it just looked like a little Snow Speeder. Before I obtained one, I would sometimes use my snowspeeder as an "enhanced" SHARC. I didn't have the Moray, but the WHALE and grossly outmatched water moccasin did have some epic battles...

    Real world or fiction?

Well color me surprised. I expected you guys to lean hard into the realistic approach for the Dragonfly. I saw one episode last weekend where Bill was actually in the back, and I wondered if it was an error or if the animator on that ep actually knew more than his peers. Yeah, some of the...

    Real world or fiction?

Knowing most of the regulars on this board like I do, I suspect the answer to this question is obvious, but... If you were to display Wild Bill in the Dragonfly (or your 21st Cobra), do you put him in the front like on the Dragonfly box art and in the vast majority of the fiction, or do you...

G.I. Kre-O, Kre-O, MegaBloks CoD and LEGO discussions

Yeah, the little comics that came with the figures. Those were produced by staff from DC at the time, IIRC. They really formed my impressions of the He-Man universe. I remember seeing the cartoon and being taken aback at how different it was. I mean, I watched it because it was a cartoon in...

G.I. Kre-O, Kre-O, MegaBloks CoD and LEGO discussions

They really are. I always enjoyed he-man in that Conan kind of way. But the more outlandish vehicles they made up, the more I didn't care. I like the wind raider and battle ram ok because classic, but outside of those two, I'm ok with He-Man just riding a giant cat-horse.

G.I. Kre-O, Kre-O, MegaBloks CoD and LEGO discussions

Nice. I haven't built my point dread yet. Not sure if I'm going to put it up top or not. In the 1981 minicomics, it didn't exist, and then later it just appeared in the background of '82 minicomics one day with no mention, wasn't mentioned by name until the 10th issue (Tale of Teela), and...

Anybody still collecting SW on here?

That hurts. I thought I got a steal at $69 for the original BMF. Of course, I overpaid for the first reissue in vintage packaging, but even that wasn't half of what they're asking for it now. I've never opened either of them. The vintage one is displayed with all my other VC vehicles still...

Anybody still collecting SW on here?

I would have sworn the original listing was $500 b/c I remember scoffing loudly... regardless, even $378 is too rich for my blood, or for a 1:18 jet too (I didn't pay nearly that for any of my BBI birds). I'm not sure comparing a hasbro product to RC tanks is particularly apt, but hey, if it...

Anybody still collecting SW on here?

You're buying the $500 Mando ship? That's dedication. I backed the $300 ML Sentinel, but the only SW item I would consider spending that kind of money on would be a death star playset, and it would have to be a massive, modular beast.

Anybody still collecting SW on here?

Nah, no bitchin' just, "Hmmm, well I guess that's a thing." While most of us like SW quite a bit around here, I think we're all well beyond the need to spend $500 + tax on a ship from a recent TV show. It doesn't hit any nostalgia buttons like most classic SW ships, and I fully expect the...

    Quid Pro Quo Joe

It completely makes sense that it's not just a single show, but I guess I never pondered the origins. I've been listening to the album since I was twelve and in my head, it was just one awesome concert. If I thought about it logically, of course it's not. I've seen Billy live in concert on...

    Quid Pro Quo Joe

I wouldn't mind just buying a record player, but a good ADC setup to extract quality audio off the record ain't cheap. I assume we have at least one audiophile with solid equipment around here somewhere... Songs in the Attic is probably one of my top-5 favorite albums of all-time. Miami...
