Hasbro gets the master license for The Ghostbusters

I think it was the zeitgeist at the time for boys our age. Even when I visited friends and relatives, i.e. city kids, they had the same thing on their minds. Gotta play war, even if it's in a tiny yard! And our parents thought it was normal because they spent their childhoods playing cowboys...

Hasbro gets the master license for The Ghostbusters

I still have my all-green rattle-when-you-pull-the-trigger M16. No pansy-ass orange tip for me! It's at my parents' house. My son plays with it on occasion, but his generation doesn't have the "play guns" or "play army" mentality we did. I spent so much time in the woods, climbing trees...

Oh, no doubt, they're aimed at poor and rural communities that don't have a lot of stores close by. We fall into the "rural" part of that equation, not the poor crime-ridden parts. The clientele is definitely a notch below even walmart. On the plus side, they're usually clean and...

Really? DG's here are EVERYWHERE. I have six of them in a 5mi radius of my office.

Side note, I did find some of the 2-vs-2 4-packs and newer armory shipping containers at dollar general. They were priced at normal MSRP, but at least they were available. I was happy, as I really wanted the white containers. At some point, I'm going to do a shipping port dio, and that...

Not that I know of. At the moment, you either order a full case from EE, or you play the cancellation lottery with amazon. It's stunning that one of the two largest toy companies in our history is run like Larry, Moe, and Shemp are at the wheel.

Per MCX team on their forums: Jul-18th: As I teased in the other thread, I'm currently investigating and hoping to share some information about The Distribution Problem soon. Met with our Senior Director yesterday and we had a really good discussion about it. I should have something to share...

Yeah, I think it's the same everywhere. Just three years ago, I could find a full range of CoD blocks at WM, Target, TRU, and Kroger. Three of them stopped carrying them, and one went tits-up. Mattel can no longer use the same old crutch of blaming distribution. It can't be distribution's...

    Cleaning out the garage..

Probably? The ones I saw were in olive drab and looked more detailed, but I didn't inspect closely. I would have guessed they were closer to the 21C birds than the TRU True Heroes... but maybe I'm wrong. Oh well.

    Cleaning out the garage..

FYI, I saw Motormax helos at Hobbytown USA over the weekend. They looked like similar molds to the helos we got years ago, but some of them had electronic sound functions. AH-1, Blackhawk, and at least one other. Pretty good looking birds. Didn't check the prices, but I assume retail is far...

    Takara Transformers

I remember all the big boxes, but I couldn't tell you which was the biggest. AT-AT from Empire was a biggie. Ewok Village was pretty big. Joe HQ, Skystriker, Hovercraft, and Stealth were all biggies too. But in terms of TFs, JF was among the largest I owned (never had any of the city bots)...

Very nice. What, no frenzy/laserbeak for you? I found these at WM this morning too. They were still mid-reset, the pegs/shelves totally bare, and I spotted these across the isle, on the top shelf behind a box of kiddie lightsabers or something. I snagged SW and both pair of cassettes...

I'm pretty sure I've seen one on clearance lately, but I can't recall which WM. I'll be happy to check. How much do you want to spend on it? WM clearance prices seem to vary widely from store to store...

Anybody still collecting SW on here?

Wow, SDCC came and went, and there were exactly zero reveals of new 6" or 4" figures of any kind. Nothing but a damn helmet. If Ep9 wasn't looming, I'd think that the great SW revival was officially over.

    Marvel Legends

Yeah, you're talking seminal issues from the mid-1970's forward. There are several that are quite expensive. By far the easiest & cheapest way to read all of that stuff is digitally. If you don't already have a reading device, a $100 kindle fire 10" makes for a great comic reading tablet...

    Marvel Legends

Well Marvel doesn't do compendiums, but they have published lots of Omnibi of X-Men material, but they're pricey and haven't fully covered the full claremont run. They're close though, probably only lack a couple of volumes in the middle. Bottom line, if you're going to collect big...

I think you're in trouble then. I think only the SDCC version is flocked. Personally, I don't care enough to pony up for a con exclusive Battle Bones just to get him. But knowing Mattel and just looking at these pics from the con with every variation of He-Man, Adam, Skeletor, Evil Lyn, &...

    Marvel Legends

Compiled in what regard? Issues, trades, hardcovers, reprint issues, digital... legal and otherwise. Pretty much any way your want it, it exists. Generally, if you're being comprehensive, you'd start at Giant-Size (even though not written by claremont, he took over shortly thereafter), then...

The unmasked Logan head is just one that they already had lying around from a couple of years ago. I have so many unused wolverine heads, I always assume that I can find one I like amongst the horde. I agree, I might read some of the Mutant Massacre==>Fall of the Mutants==>Inferno era comics...

So they showed off a ton of new stuff, especially 90's era X-Men. Scott, Jean, Logan 3-pack, Havok/Polaris in X-Factor unis, Strong Guy BAF, Dani Moonstar with alt heads for Karma and Wolfsbane, Nate Grey X-Man... even f#$%ing toon Morph (oh how I loathe that redshirt character)...
