    Takara Transformers

His little skits are bizarrely insane, but I agree with almost everything he said about the figure. I feel zero need to trade up from the first version. It's been on my shelf long enough that I am used to whatever flaws it may possess, especially when the 2.0 is such a hot mess. That's true...

    Mega Bloks Militia

Indeed. Plus, she likes comic books, cartoons, collecting stuff, nerdy junk, and cats. She even watches football and racing sometimes. All she asks is that I don't make fun of her primetime dramas and all the network singing ninja weightloss talent reality shows. It's REALLY hard, but I do...

    Mega Bloks Militia

Oh I plan to! There's no danger of her going anywhere. Been together since '97, married since '01. We're very well matched, and we both have the loyalty chip. Plus she's great with the kids, has more common sense than the law allows, is hot, and is a great cook. I definitely got lucky.

    Mega Bloks Militia

The vintage Children's Palace vibe was totally what I was going for when I started the collection and subsequently built the room. But alas, it was too good to last. The opposite side of the room looks just like that but with modern "vintage" Star Wars stuff. And the back wall is all MIB...

    Mega Bloks Militia

Ha! It probably was, but when it takes several years to acquire them, you spread out the pain. Trust me, it used to be a lot more expensive... and that didn't count the other wall of international figures. I've liquidated quite a bit.

    Mega Bloks Militia

NSA , here's the full collection. It's nice in that it's very finite. This is all that exists, so it's manageable to collect and display. Just 24 figures, 13 Joes, 11 Cobras. Fun trivia: not counting the really shitty India Funskool verison, this is the only proper vintage carded v1 Zartan...

    Mega Bloks Militia

The MOC Japanese Joes? They only made 24 figures and about a dozen vehicles. I managed to painfully and slowly obtain a full set. In fact, when I sold my '82-'87 MOC Joe collection about five years ago, I kept the Japanese stuff. It's very cool, blue backgrounds on the Joes, red backgrounds...

NSA , here's a better look at the backdrop setup:

    Mega Bloks Militia

Yeah, the little blue one is the sad Kreo hiss. I love having my Mega Joes being disgusted with the Kreo vehicles. Clutch did the same thing with the VAMP. The backdrop is just a printed canvas. If you look closely, you can see that I need to iron it... Ebay and amazon have a ton of these...

    Mega Bloks Militia

Because I just can't stop making Mega Joe stuff... Actually, it took me a month or so to design a proper replacement for that Kreo piece of junk. HISS engineering at it's finest. I think my HISS is larger than the 3.75" hasbro version.

Anybody still collecting SW on here?

I don't think so. It's just that Hasbro doesn't do vinyl plushies. Mattel has had other SW items like weird hot wheels and such, as if Chewbacca would drive a streetrod and Darth Vader's gonna cruise in a custom pedo van. It's just more of Mattel being Mattel. AFAIK, Hasbro still has the...

    Mega Bloks Militia

Thanks! I've got more vehicles and figures that I hope to show off in the next few weeks. I find that trying to recreate Joe vehicles in brick form is both challenging and relaxing, especially if you're trying to make them look cool and not chibi-fied like Kreo.

    Mega Bloks Militia

Been making slow progress on my Mega Joes project, and I knew that K-Tiger would be really disappointed if I didn't make his favorite characters. ;) I was going to wait and show them off when I finished all their gear, but given my schedule, that could be a while. So here you go:

Surprisingly, the eggs have seen better distribution than the Heroes figures. Places like Target and Kroger do a pretty solid business on the eggs.

What's even stranger, that dutch figure uses CoD legs but halo-style waist, torso and arms. CoD already had a bare-chested, bare-armed figure, so it's really odd they would frankenstein this figure in such a fashion. Also, I know the movies are all rated-R, but it's weird that these cute...

    1:12 Action Force Kickstarter

Yeah, being from Hasbro DNA, he would feel the need to add a backstory. It's what separated Joe from other army toys and what made TF different from other little robots. That being said, I got in on this campaign for the military-themed custom fodder. We all want 6" Joes, not their red-headed...

    1:12 Action Force Kickstarter

I don't know Bobby, but he's an enthusiastic chap. He definitely seems to have a passion for the property/project, and his hasbro experience gives me hope that it won't be the typical kickstarter boondoggle.

    1:12 Action Force Kickstarter

OK, the first AF kickstarter didn't fund, but the second attempt has already exceeded it's goal, so it's a go. With 29 hours to go, it looks like a good chance to get some nice 1:12 military figs with decent customization potential. I'm sad they made the female figures the long-shot stretch...
