Anybody still collecting SW on here?

Nice idea, but no thanks hasbro. I'm not subsidizing their R&D. It was one thing for Mattel to do this with Castle Greyskull, as the MOTU fanbase is substantially smaller. The world has enough SW fans willing to throw money at Lucas/Disney that this comes across as just douche-y. But this...

Anybody still collecting SW on here?

I recall reading years ago that the SW designers weren't allowed to share parts and tooling with other lines, i.e. SW is "special" and doesn't want anyone else's filthy parts or any other line using theirs. It was such a big deal when that blue/black suited SDCC Cobra Commander used a Henry...

Anybody still collecting SW on here?

It's true, SWB often do feel more like McFarlane 5" figures than traditional 6" lines. But that's so odd when Hasbro makes ML too. I can't decide which excuse is worse: 1) Not having enough forethought to make them scale properly or 2) intentionally making them different so fans can't mix &...

Anybody still collecting SW on here?

Just for example (couldn't find a male pic)... when you hold them in your hand, it's clear they are a completely different scale. And that's the "normal" size of ML female buck. If you put Slave Leia next to She-Hulk or Angela, I'm not sure Leia would top out above the belt. SW Black is...

Anybody still collecting SW on here?

The non-armored/helmeted adult males in the SW line come in around 5.5 inches, while the same in the Marvel Legends are more like 6.5 inches. They look stupid side-by-side.

Anybody still collecting SW on here?

They're releasing this figure in the 6" black series as well. She looks great in the larger scale. Problem is that the SW 1:12 figures are substantially smaller than Marvel 1:12 figures. They look absurd together, so you can't use them as background characters or custom fodder outside of the...

In addition to your Germans, we have 1) Hasmat shipping container 2) WWII shipping container 3) Heavy transport truck (to haul the shipping containers) Plus about a zillion different loose brick sets for $10 (200 pcs) in assorted themes/colors, including a camo set. Gonna be a good year for...

I'll believe it when I see the tiny swastikas. If they do that, Charlie and Habib better not be far behind. I need some (semi) modern tangos.

If we were any bigger nerds, there would be a crusty old dean trying to shut us down, or at the very least, put us on double secret probation.

We're into nothing BUT lego. If they still had Kre-O stuff to sell/display, I'm might have gotten some traction with that. I'll take him to any lego event we're near. But that doesn't solve my joecon dilemma. Since I have no interest in ordering a $500 box of repaint python patrol figures...

I've been to Heroescon in Charlotte a half-dozen times, and that's a load of fun. Tons of comics, toys, and artists. the kids have enjoyed it the two times I took them. But this is Joecon. Aside from just saying we did it, there is no good reason to go. I've already liquidated my MOC...

No-frills one-day general admission is $25 per adult, $10 per kid, $12 parking... so for me and my son to go there for a single afternoon, it's $47 plus gas, food, etc. If I want "early bird" access to the vendors, that's $80 per person (wtf). If my son was actually into Joe, I'd probably just...

I keep getting emails about signing up for this con. Two things strike me: 1) They claim this is going to be the final one, so I guess it's getting absorbed by the mothership into "hascon" going forward? 2) It's taking place an hour and a half from my house, and I still can't get motivated...

I've never used it before. Does it just glue on? The only flocking I'm familiar with is the fuzzy stuff that goes on a surface, but I'm not familiar with it being used in a fluffy 3-d sense. How do you make it look like green cotton candy?!

I have Fireflight in my PoL, but if he's as good as Air Raid (and I assume he is, as they look pretty similar), I can't imagine not being happy with him. I agree that even if the others are duds, for the price, I don't mind having them as stand-alone figures.

I didn't weather mine, but Herc and Uranos are up high on a bookshelf, nowhere near the rest of my collection... and I get a little pissed every time I see them. I really should take them down, but they're not even worth the effort. :grumpy:

Maybe... eventually. FT's look pretty, but I certainly don't think they look twice as good (I really don't like FT's toon heads). Maybe TT will eventually get around to these, and maybe they'll be better. I can only assume that would be so far away I will have moved on to other hobbies by...
