I know this is very late in the game, but hey... I never wanted any vehicles until recently. I can thank all you dio picture taking fucks for that one. Soooo...

With BBI and 21st no longer being a viable option, what brand of Humvee would you guys recommend as the better choice? PTE, Unimax, other? Of course, Unimax is now rapidly becoming extinct too.

I have one Unimax model right now, from the last offering. The non-working rear doors is a real letdown, but other than that, it's not too bad. It's a mere 1in longer than true scale, so it's close to being properly sized at least. (15ft L = 180in = 10in for 1:18th)

I hear Maisto's 1:18th die-cast version is really good for detail, but most say you can't use figs with it. And I won't even go into Exoto's die-cast... freakin' works of art, and VERY pricey.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

PTE is your only real option outside of eBaying one of the Bbi or 21st ones. I've heard figures in the backseat on the 21st are a no-go, and the Bbi ones have their own set of issues.

Yeah... I've been looking on ebay for a bit now. Just can't decide what to get within a decent price range. And I really don't need a 2nd TOW package.

Big Lots currently has a couple of different versions of a Humvee,(PTE/world peacekeepers) desert, camo, Covered back.
& For $20 they will be a lot cheaper than hunting down anything on ebay.

If you can get one that utilizes pickles turret kit (forget which one that is), you will not be disappointed...

For that... I'd kinda need to know which one is compatable. Not that I'm specifically looking to outfit one with that particular setup, but knowing which is what, would be helpful.

Basically, from the more obtainable versions still somewhat available - which one(s) are better overall?

For twenty bucks you can't go wrong with the pte. All doors open, and you can use the back seats. And four screws hold the body to the frame.

Yeah... I'm leaning more towards PTE for the doors alone. Thanks.

Can anyone tell me how long the PTE is, from actual bumper to bumper?

Not for the closet rivet counter, and I'm sure Obi can tell the Mk.19 is not in scale.

 Already poped the front doors, rear hatch and front window. Might steal NSA's 5th sf idea. But don't tell anybody.

Thanks, but I'm not sure if I want to add anything too crazy to one of these. It would mainly be used for background shots for the most part. You never know though, so I'll keep the offer in mind.

The VvsV night ops Humvee is pretty awesome. I got mine for 20 locally.
Not too keen on Hasbro's. I've read it's a little on the big side when compared to more accurate 1:18 versions. How long is it? If it's close to 10" L x 4" H, it would be close.
