That's ridiculously small, isn't it? Glad I never started picking up MPs or I would indeed be irritated...

Well, they've been able to cram a LOT of bot into the alt mode, and vice versa. So they could pull it off so it's not so obvious, but the Beetle won't be 1:1 with the other cars, whatever their scales come out to be. There's no way. I'm assuming from the looks of that pic, that the Beetle will be roughly 80%-85% of the size of a real to-scale Beetle when paired with the other cars.
There's a pic of a Beetle next to a Z car in that thread, and while the Beetle is in the foreground (which throws off the comparison a little) they're roughly the same size, if the Beetle isn't actually stouter/taller.

Yeah, by the looks of it, B is gonna be more Mini Cooper sized than actual Beetle to Z sized...
I'm just not feeling the urge to let that bother me. No doubt some segment of TF fans (far more particular than Joe fans in general) will bust out the pitchforks... but I just don't care. He looks ok in bot mode, which is where mine will stay. Overall, BB looks pretty impressive.
And eddie, when talking about the price, don't forget that BB comes with a transforming Spike-in-exosuit. It's far above the level of a basic accessory. That inclusion is what keeps BB priced much the same as other MP cars.

Up until now, I only had Alternity BB as my default Bee, and he's all sorts of awkward. Oddly enough, the Cliffjumper actually looks much better due to his darker red coloration, so until we get a proper CJ, I'll be ok with using the Alternity CJ with the MP Bee.

I think DacaToys is making some MP articulated hands too. I really liked their MP-10 replacement head, and I'm anxiously awaiting Kronos (MP Skyfire).

What's wrong with MP-10's head other than dead eyes? I simply disassembled my MP-10's head, painted the eyes baby blue, then out it back together and he's perfect. Is the new head more anime?

It's just a different aesthetic on the new head. The set actually has two heads, but both of them look more like a mature OP rather than the young brash OP-style that the MP-10 head gives off. Nothing wrong with either, just a different vibe.

One's supposed to be from the '86 movie, and the other is supposed to be older, elder statesman Prime.... as I understand it.
I dunno, I think the factory one's better, although $15 isn't terrible for 2 different heads considering that I paid $18 at some point for the MP-01 alternate head awhile back.
I'm not 100% on any of them. I bought the set b/c it was $14, but none of the three compare to the iGear MP-01 anime head. I got spoiled by that perfect sculpt, and everything else looks weak by comparison.

Anyone see an MP 10 for around $100?? I have the year of the horse version and the colors drive me nutz on it.
MP-10 for $100? They were $250 new at retail. Even the recently released KOs cost more than that. The TRU version never hit most stores and is pretty rare. I know the gold-horse version is only $129 at TRU, but I doubt you'll ever find a regular color version that cheap unless the KOs come down substantially.
I didn't realize it was that expensive at retail. Thought it was on par with Year of the Horse version.
No, TT did a second run of MP-10, and most e-tailers have them listed around $299. The first TRU version was cheaper, but they were a mystery vapor-ware product that no one ever saw except on ebay at double MSRP. The first attempt KO apparently has some non-minor QC issues.
I'd say your best bet is to either paint the YOTH version or steal one on ebay (there was one recently that sold for cheap b/c the seller misspelled "masterpiece"). If there was a good source of cheap ones, I'd definitely get another.

I thought about getting Soundblaster to get Ratbat and keeping the black Soundwave at work, but I almost wish they'd just released a second Soundwave, identical to the first, because I don't want a black Soundwave, as great as the mold is.
$100+ is way too much for a cassette, though. This will be the first MP mold I've actively passed on, so that sort of stings…
Yeah, US version. And while it was probably too much.. I had put that money aside for just that purpose, and had spent many days trying to decide if I should or not. I figured I might as well just go ahead and do it in case I regret it sometime later.
I'd rather just pay $30 for the inevitable KO ratbat. I'm just not into the japanese-only stuff from back in the day, so black-soundwave-repaint is just not something I can justify spending money on. I didn't even know there was a US version.
