The World’s End Review

If you were a fan of Shaun of the Dead, than this movie is for you. It has that same sense of humor, pace, and action as that zombie classic. Let’s not forget about the beer. Plenty of that once again too.

The movie begins with Gary King (Simon Pegg) in rehab listening to a bunch of sob stories. He has never done anything with his life and has failed at just about everything. He decides these failures began with his failure to achieve his golden mile with his friends, 12 pubs in one night in his childhood hometown. The quest to right that wrong begins.

He must first convince all of his high school friends to once again follow on this quest. This is not an easy task as their friendship ended with fireworks. Andy (Nick Frost) being the hardest to convince. Through a few white lies Gary achieves his minions for his quest.

The Golden Mile starts out innocently enough with the first few pubs but quickly goes sour. The entire town is infested with blue blooded alien robots who plan to assimilate the world to their beliefs. Once the action begins it doesn’t slow down. Even with all the chaos, one thing does not change. And that one thing is Gary’s will to achieve his golden mile. Nothing or nobody is going to stop his quest this time around.

This movie was a home run for me. I enjoyed it immensely. I give it a proud 9 out 0f 10 stars. If you liked Shaun of the Dead at all, you must watch this.

Thanks for reading!
