Comics: Atomic Robo Vol. 1

Atomic Robo, volume 1: Atomic Robo and the Fightin’ Scientists of Tesladyne

Written by Brian Clevinger, art by Scott Wegener (and others), published by Red 5 Comics

Overview

Atomic Robo, how much I love you and your comic. The rest of you should, too. Where else can you expect to read about Nazi mecha, a talking dromaeosaurus, Nazi zombies, Carl Sagan, the Vampire dimension, giant ants, Stephen Hawking (who is, apparently, a bastard), giant possibly-but-not-really extinct rainforest chickens, British superspies, pirate girls with jetpacks, Thomas Edison, H.P. Lovecraft, Lovecraftian horrors, walking steam-powered Egyptian pyramids, and Action Scientists. And, of course, a 500-pound robot designed and built by Nikola Tesla. You get my point. And if none of that is interesting to you, then you have no soul and I can’t help you. Move along.

According to their website, Team Robo promises: “No angst, no ‘cheesecake’, no reboots, no filler, and no delays (that we have any control over, i.e. Diamond will be Diamond)”.
