Creating Diorama Walls From Foam

Anyone interested in action figures will eventually want to use them in dioramas, and in the quest for greater realism in our displays we realize the need for background walls or buildings to help set the scene.

Many aspiring dio builders balk at the idea of creating scaled buildings for their figures, but it’s really not that difficult. Cardboard and balsa wood are popular materials, but nothing beats polystyrene foam for its ease of use, low cost, and effectiveness in portraying stone, brick, or concrete.

Forum Moderator Mandingo Rex has proven this by sharing his detailed and easy-to-follow techniques for turning a plain sheet of foam into a variety of realistic structures for his GI Joe dioramas.
