X Review: Retaliation Crimson Guard

review-sculpt01

I’m not sure what to say about their choices. It’s the 25th Crimson Guard torso with Shock Trooper arms, retooled Wraith/Alley-Viper upper legs, Alley-Viper/Range-Viper lower legs, and a new head and vest. Thankfully, the vest covers up the torso, because it looks ridiculous with the rest of the body. They honestly should have just re-released the whole 25th version, considering the mess they made with this one.

Sure, you get a new head, but it looks only slightly less monkey-ish than the 25th version. You also get a holster and a sheath for the knife on the retooled legs. Whoopdee-freaking-doo. What good is that if the figure itself looks so bad?

review-articulation01

Considering the pile of spare parts they used, the articulation is standard for modern figures. It’s a good thing, but it really doesn’t help to add anything redeeming to this figure.

Head, shoulders, elbows, swivel-and-bend wrists, torso, hips, double-knees and basic ankles.
