Lately I have...if I'm trying to fit it into my collection of Hasbro figs, I'll semi-gloss it so the sheens match...if its something else entirely, I'll dull coat it and gloss the things with a brush that need it...it just looks better IMO...testors products are what I use...as of yet, they don't react with plastics...
I've also found that gloss paints go on better than matte, for some reason... So my flesh tones always go on shiny, and then I clear-coat them with a dull coat. It gives them a factory finish and seems to protect the detail work on the eyes/brows/hairlines, too.
