So I've been wondering for some time if there would be enough interest to petition pickel to seriously consider a Huey upgrade package.

I reckon if you wanted to get real in depth the kit could have more options than the PAVE kit, but I'm leaving the suggested parts basic just to gauge interest.

Potential parts:

XM158 rocket pod x2:

XM3 rocket pod X2 (seen here mounted horizontally on a CH-34):

XM21 (M134 on Emerson mount, with the feed chutes and ammo cans, brace bar) x2

M6 (twin M60Cs on Emerson mounts, feed chutes and ammo cans) x2

VHF/UHF Antenna up on the roof, (should go just aft of where the vary-much post-war line cutter is) and the FM antenna for the tail (though that's easy enough to do yourself)

Then perhaps the sagami mounts he did several years back, though as I understand it those were problematic pieces.

So hit up the poll, let me know if I'm the only kook that wants to fiddle with my Hueys' payloads.

As long as none of these cover up the Cobra logo I'm in! ;)

I would be down for these mods. Any upgrade would be a plus at this point.

BTW

Sagami mounts.

When I first made theses mounts there was a whole lot of hands on to produce the end product.

A few years have passed and my skill level for moulding parts has increased a little .

So that being said I could take the Sagami project and give it a new simpler/ cheaper lease on life.

Yeah, the sagami mounts to the M156 universal mount.

Not to my knowledge. I was under the impression they all came with them, "slick" or not.

could try one like that. I have a PTE battering ram of all things that could be the start of something like it.

Not correct for a gunship, but I was never that much of a rivet counter.

I think that would be the most popular configuration.

Really want the XM21 or whatever.. that looks great.[/QUOTE]

Is that the mini gun mount ?

If so that would be easy to replicate.

Also the new Blackhawks minis are just fine. If you all would want the mini gun mount and gun ( xm-21 ? ) that is a can do.

Now as far as the ammo belt chute goes that could be a little vexing.

I had this idea years ago to use this cloth ribbon for the ammo chute.

Maybe if you put a few layers of the tape together it could work.

Thoughts ?

It could work. There's lots of feed chutes out there with action figures, none I can think of our long enough.

NSA, you know anyone with the Terminator: Salvation T-600? It has the longest one, but maybe the 6" scale one could be made to work?

Hmmm. I don't know of anywhere to get that now, does look like it could be made to work perhaps.. wonder if there are some cheap ones on eBay.

That cloth could work too, wonder how it'd look with some paint/etc.

The new 6" Rambo figure comes with a pair of bandoliers of ammo. Might be made to work.

Also, I've bought a few 1/6 ammo belts of small caliber stuff that looks pretty good for larger 1:18th ammo, and they have removable metal links, so in theory you could make them any length you want.

The problem is they don't just run the belts out to the guns. They go through feed chutes.

Sure, you could HT it and just run belted ammo all willy-nilly, I guess that would be up to the end-user.

The M5less one does give you a little more versatility.

You SHOULD be able to remove the grenade launcher, though.

Well, we know one was a joke vote. I made it multiple choice for some reason. I really should have made it public. People without Hueys probably shouldn't have even read the thread period. :D

No, but the guys that voted seriously (yes, we know that you did) should.
