For fun I looked at river cruises, one of which went along your river.

I used to buy Russian toy soldiers from a guy in St. Petersburg, awesome quality. The mail order brides are a no-go for me, my wife wouldn’t understand and I’m getting too old to train a new woman.
A “friend” tried that once, the worst part was some assembly required.
SSL needed to be renewed.. whoopsie! I got it taken care of.. you'd think they would send a notice or something...
Trying to find a better way to manage registrations.. ridiculous amounts of Drug registrations.. always trying to sell dick pills or weight loss..
I tried to triage but it had to be like 99.5% spam registrations and ain't nobody got time for that.

Someone registered "From London" but their IP address shows them in Poland.. legitimate registration, or BAD SPAMMER?!
Do I allow them into the cool kids place, or reject them now and forever?

IDK, I use a VPN 98% of the time these days, even for casual browsing. So I never geo-match.

I didn't pay the SSL bill... $18 coming to get me! Working on getting that resolved for the security errors.
Not sure what got into Wordpress' Wheeties today though, going to try and troubleshoot that nonsense now...

The FRONT PAGE.. seems totally broken.. something going on with WordPress but I can't seem to figure it out.
I got a redirect to the forums in place now.. these should be working.
While I don't want to lose all that time and effort we put into the WP articles... I also don't really care that much, I don't think anyone uses the front page for anything anymore.. though it did make us look semi-legit

Holy crap I fixed the background image too! It should properly scale now to modern size monitors and resolutions.

Working at trying to link in Socials a little more, we still somehow get a bunch of people posting on our Facebook, would be nice to get them here too.

Forum wasn't loading this morning for some reason, looked at it again and it loaded. That was weird.
Seems good this morning (but I am a little closer geographically right now than usual 
).
As much as it might have surprised me to not see the iconic “passed out in the diaper aisle” pic, it really took me back seeing the new/classic banner. And then the top poster list… Man, I do miss the good old days sometimes.
Especially with all the activity within the Joeverse, be it primarily at 1:12 scale and with comics (and maybe even a movie), it does make me a little sad that the forum remains so quiet most of the time. I really do hate what the major social media platforms have done to the format, feels kind of like how the big box stores killed off the local five and dime stores.

Yeah our attention spans are shorter.. people want to click Like or share and no one wants to really "commit" as much as they used to it seems.
Also things get funneled all in the same direction it seems, so you get the same reinforcing content over and over again..
Also I do suppose there are a million and one different places on the internet to go now, whereas back in the day it seemed to be a few and they were wildly different.
Perhaps someday we shall have our time in the sun once again!
