BBI resumes 1/18th scale production!

According to a post @ Bad Cat toys, the toy manufacturer BBI (Blue Box International) has resumed manufacturing of 1/18th scale pre-made models.

The first release, slated for this summer is the F-16C Falcon, which was previously available online, at Toys R Us and Target.

The listed price for a pre-order is $149.99, with a MSRP of $159.99. Previously, the plane retailed between $70 and $100 at the big box stores.

BBI has been out of the 1/18th scale market for a couple of years now, and many of their products command high prices on sites like eBay. Some of their other popular releases are the AH-64 Apache, UH-60 Blackhawk/Pavehawk as well as the only 1/18th scale F/A-18 Hornet. Hopefully they will start re-releasing all of their 1/18th scale back catalog, opening up lots of products for a whole new group of collectors who may not have been around in the early 2000’s.
