Anybody still collecting SW on here?

Yeah, TVC pricing has gotten bonkers. They went from 8 to 10 to 13 to 16 to 20 in the blink of an eye. I only collect TVC OT figures anymore, and even those are mostly reissues and highly skippable. Sometimes they make a new head or do a new sculpt with ball hips that compels a purchase, but otherwise, they're just recycling like they're Greta Thunberg.

And it seems like Black Series has petered out as well. I can't remember the last time they made an OT figure in that line.

Admittedly, I'm not a SW collector, but for a while now I've wanted an accurate looking 6" Han Solo & Chewie to join Mando & Groku, Darth Vader, Captain America and Spidey as some of my favorite non-Joe, iconic movie character action figures for my desk at work. Finally having a few extra bucks around to play with, I recently picked up a loose Bespin Han and carded Archive Series Chewie second hand from Mercari. But something is a little off.

While they each looks pretty good individually, Chewie looks to be at least 10% larger scaled than Han. Instead of being a head taller, he is head and shoulders taller and his crossbow is half as tall as Han, who generally looks a little tiny by comparison. I put Han on a stand and boosted him again by placing that atop another stand to add probably 3/8" and he still just comes to the top of Chewie's shoulder.

Han seems to be of the same mildly diminutive scale as Mando and Darth, a little less impressive than GI Joe CS, while Chewie looks like he'd fit in pretty well with the Dreadnoks. What's the deal? Are there versions of each that match up better or is every SWBS Chewie a little larger scaled and every Han just a little fella? And please don't tell me that they only finally scaled up TFA Old Man Han .

I've found that SWB are all tiny... by hasbro 1/12 standards. They're probably true 1/12 scale, but that's no bueno next to hasbro's other 6" lines. As for Chewy... yeah, I've always thought he was a little large in the version I have (early SWB) but I didn't buy the latest refreshes, so I can't speak to those. I know Han got a new sculpt (or at least a head), but I doubt they funnied with the scale much.

I've pretty much given up on SWB. My SW collecting is down to the few, grossly overpriced, TVC figures from the OT they put out each year. Got ESB Gen Veers yesterday. He looks good if I can develop amnesia to forget what I paid.

Where you least expect it
Years ago Hasbro noticed Carrie Fisher was noticeably short than everyone else. I don’t think we got a full sized figure after that.

I know with SW they cut what they can to make up for the LF/Disney license fees.

Compair just the output of Joe vs anything else & it’s clear where they make their most money per unit.
