Wow, as awesome as the black officer was, this trooper with his blue boots, blue gloves, and blue mask is really craptacular. I know they can't afford a lot of paint apps in a discount figure line, but wow that trooper is a disappointment.
I finally might get to make a proper Beachhead using ole Shippy...

If I ever get one of those green ship wrecks, I can just put a steel brigade figure head on him and there Beach Head is.
That's my plan, just switch the legs with a pair of DG troop's and paint them, add some webgear, volia!
My oldest loves the blue Cobra Trooper - he loves the ARAH cartoon and wants tons of them...hopefully I will be able to get him a few. Definitely want shippys for customs and likely will get one SS and at least one SE...
I was planning on a parts-swap with the DG blueshirts to make at least a blue Officer with black officer webgear, but it may just be easier to do that to a 30th blueshirt and call it a damn day. I still need a few more black DG officers anyways.
That green Shipwreck, I'll need at least 3-5 of for various customs. Hopefully they'll be easy enough to get ahold of, but I'm not holding my breath.
My interest has waned on the green SE and the gray Duke, but that CC may be useful for a custom or two. That ghastly Storm Shadow repaint can rot in hell, though.

Those Shipwrecks will be worth more than gold when they come out. Everyone wants multiples for customs.
This was a perfect opportunity to release a 30th Officer to go with the 30th Trooper and they decide to paint the figure in comic colors. It's such a waste and a let down to me.

I still don't know why anyone wants those fucking comic-accurate figures. They're ugly as shit, to hell with being accurate. I wound up with about 4-5 of those "Scarface" Officers because I wanted the CG Freds, and repainted all their yellow to black and changed the face masks to black, too. What a pain in the ass.
The all-black was pretty badass, although I prefer the silly blue jammies. Even doing one in Stinger Driver colors or olive drab would've been better than those ghastly comic colors.
I was just watching the Joe cartoon on HUB, and the Shippy makes a damn good Sunbow "Greenshirt" base. I'm planning on using at least one or two to update a few O13 guys and probably make a Sparks as well. I almost wish they'd come out with the alternate of Shipwreck first.

I was going to defend the "comic-accurate" wants of some of us, and then I realized that I don't give a crap about color matching the comics. I slapped a Scarface head on a 30th Cobra trooper and am much happier with it.

True. I guess I should be concerned about them getting to the stuff we've actually seen rather than speculating about stuff that we haven't.
Wait, some ass-hat bought those figures for $6 each at the Dollar General, then gave them an half-ass paint-job, then sold them on eBay for about $26 each, with the Cobra Trooper repaint at $66?!?
No, these are official "wave 2" repaints. They just took the same figures, painted them differently, and these are the first to leak.
Anyone still looking for the first wave? I cleaned out a Christmas Tree Shop and I get a discount there, so I have extras of Shipwreck, SE and CC.

I stopped by a DG on the way home today...what a waste of time it is for me in this area...there's some other joe guy around here who is clearly always beating me to the punch...all the good figs are always picked over...may as well not even bother looking for wave 2 when it starts hitting...
