I got the human Zodac (the vs DC pack one) today. I think I'll have him as a seperate character and call him Zodiac. He needs a weapon though. Any suggestions? I was thinking the red whip from the weapons pack. Zodiac is going to be an insane cosmic enforcer.

Just seen that MOTUC are hitting Walmarts! Can anyone snag me Roboto and Gygore pretty please?

There is a new line? I hope they make a Castle Grey skull. It may be a little big, but I'd love to have something else for my Joes and Cobras to battle in and around.

This is an online-only line. That WM pic is the first thing that might indicate otherwise (and I'm not sure it wasn't 'shopped), aside from some TRU MOTU vs DCUC two packs.

You have exactly two days to get on the wagon for Grayskull. Grit your teeth and pull the trigger!

Can't be legit. I'd haul my ass to Wally to get that damn moldy, yella gorilla.

So I just ran through some of the reviews, and while King Hssss may or may not have been part of the original cartoon (I frankly don't remember) I had his toy, and the design of the classic one totally misses the mark on the play value of the original. The old one had an outer shell "skin" that popped off, and while the new one retains the articulation, missing that seems to sort of suck.

I dunno, like I said, I don't collect these, I just admire them. But something seems partially lazy about completely losing that gimmick. Not even a nod to it besides the separate torso?

I don't mean go with a brick, but whatever. The extra torso is a big "give" though, you're right.

At least it wasn't as slavish as the piece of shit brick that was 25th Deep Six.

So are there any "must have" classic guys (like Cross-Country, Frostbite or Keel-Haul, for example from the 25th/ME Joe line) that are still missing from the MOTUC lineup, or have they pretty much exhausted all the wanted characters by now?

Depends on who you like really. They still haven't done Ninjor, Mantenna, Dragstor, Rio Blast, Extendar, Squeeze, Blast Attak, Modulok, Multi Bot, plus a good few He Man and Skeletor alt costumes. Then there's the 200X stuff to draw on, and after that, the PoP shit and more Filmation stuff (I want Strong Arm - I remember being a kid telling others that I bet he'd be in the next wave of figures lol.)

I want more vehicles personally. Land Shark, then Battle Ram, then Talon Fighter and point Dread.

Ram Man was the last A/B-list character that really needed a figure. There are tons of minor characters that could get made, but honestly, my knowledge of MOTU beyond 1984 is pretty sketchy. I had the first few years of figures and watched the filmation toon, but I'm not as steeped in MOTU minutiae the way I am with Joe.

But I would love a Battle Ram and Point Dread + Talon Fighter. I don't care much about the later vehicles (Spidor? Really?), but those early ones featured in the mini comics were pure gold. Battle Ram had more play value than most any other toy of that size.

I remember getting Battle Ram for my birthday when I was 9, and shooting ashtrays in Burger King with the launching missiles. Good times.

Also, if you guys haven't seen it, I wholly recommend watching the 200X series. It's like HeMan, only 100 x better. Count Marzo really is a badass. The episode where he bitchslaps Evil Lyn is hilarious.

I agree, it is good. Truthfully, it's done in a way that makes the adult in me excited much the same way the 8 year old in me enjoyed the filmation toon years ago. It's modernized and more mature, yet it holds all the major themes and character traits you'd expect to see. Nothing is changed for change's sake, and nothing ruins what you already loved about the mythos. It's well done.

Maybe not quite that gritty, but yeah. When you go back and watch the filmation version, and it's so painful... you ask yourself, "Why is this so bad when I remember enjoying it so much?"

Then you watch the 200X toon, and it fits your fond memories of the filmation toon. It's everything your mind remembers that was fun about MOTU without 95% of the goofy.
