This one is a quick little custom I did for my grandson. He watched a herbie the lovebug movie and bought this generic VW beetle at Walmart. I printed off some decals and slapped them on. He thought it was super cool

When I was going through my 1:18 scale car phase, I almost got the love bug but opted for a bumblebee instead. (Custom stickers)

I had a 1972 beetle painted orange back in the 90’s. It ran great but after getting out of the national guard I couldn’t justify keeping the extra car with our house full of kids on a troopers salary and sold it for $700. I get sick to my stomach thinking about it

He's definitely established himself eternally as the trust fund nerd in the nice house that has the coolest toys. I'm sure all his friends (oh, wait ) love to come over and play! Nah, to each his own. It is impressive, and I'm happy for him. I think I would have opted for true to scale models if I were going to that extreme.

Sure, I'm not knocking his hobby. But I would have more respect for the project if the rest of the house didn't look like it had just survived a major flood or whatever is going on with those door frames. It seems like someone let everything else go in order to make this thing. It would be a totally different story if it were in a nice space with proper lighting, but as it stands, it seems like someone with priorities that are out of whack. Thus my assumption that there was never a wife, or there certainly isn't anymore.

It’s only one picture so I suspect it might look better from another angle
Hard to tell with repurposed garages.

But that Disney artwork is probably a pretty penny.

But he can’t sell it on EBay because it comes from a smoker’s house

But I'm sure in the right environment with the right lighting, etc, it would be an impressive project.
