The X Reviews: Cobra Invasion Team Firefly

While I will admit to the fact that I just might be an impatient fool, Hasbro’s recent M.O. of showing what will come and then pushing things back or omitting things entirely, I decided it was better to jump while the price was good, rather than wait for several months only to find that the prices had tripled because Hasbro pushed things back again. I miss the money I spent, but I don’t regret the purchase one bit. With that said, let’s jump into the review! Packaging None. Since I bought this off an EBAY seller because I’m an impatient fool, the packaging was a bubblewrapped baggie with the figure and accessories. From pictures online, it does seem that I received all the accessories that were supposed to come with him, so I have no complaints at all. He ... Read More »

Marvel Universe Professor X

The much desired Marvel Universe Professor X has hit retail!  Professor X uses the same mold as the 2009 SDCC exclusive James McCullen figure that was available only at the convention in a 2 Pack with another Destro/McCullen figure.  Ever since the McCullen figure has been announced,  collectors have wanted the figure not only because it’s a great looking figure but for all of the custom possibilities.  With the rarity and short supply of the figure not to mention the cost,  the McCullen figure hasn’t been customized as much as collectors wanted too.  Several G.I.Joe lines have come and gone since the release of the exclusive suited figure and collectors have continued to ask Hasbro for a mass retail release of the mold with no response. Finally it was announced some time ago that a Professor X figure was coming to retail using the same ... Read More »

Canadian Joe Con 2012

This last weekend in Toronto Canada,  the 2012 Canadian Joe Convention was held.  Officer member Charade attended the Convention and has brought back Intel to the states.  Here is a quote from Charade on Hasbro: The biggest disappoint was the lack of Hasbro Canada. They were scheduled for a panel near the end of the day, but reportedly they cancelled that about a week ago. According to the CJC administrators, Hasbro Canada pulled out due to a corporate-wide policy of minimizing the dissemination of information to the public for the immediate future. Supposedly, this is because of delay of the Retaliation movie, which disrupted their original plans for Joe’s future. The CJC staff told us that, while Hasbro International re-evaluates the future strategies for G.I. Joe, contact between Hasbro and the public will be minimal. Hasbro did show up to the CJC ... SDCC 2012 Shockwave HISS

Ah, Hasbro.  Another year has gone by and you come up with another decent crossover exclusive.  Although the tank was not the highlight of the set there was plenty to make this worth it if you got your hands on one.  The HISS is a painted up Retaliation tank that has static treads.  Those and a glass canopy are two things I’m not a fan of.  The design of the new HISS tanks are ok but of course Cobra overlook certain engineering features.  Open turret?  Is this 1984 still?  Let’s protect that gunner already!  The attack mode is fairly worthless too.  It points at the ground.  Great of you want to dig a hole I guess. The did manage to use a barrel similar to the original Shockwave though.  It is a little smaller but has the same design minus ... Read More »

Road Blocked?

Joe Con 2012 is in full swing and the news,  photo’s and coverage has been coming in at a furious pace.  As we have been discussing the updates from our friends at OG13.com as well as other Joe sites like GeneralsJoes.com,  it was announced today that two figures were pulled out of the display case shortly after they were displayed.  One of our Forum Founder’s Birddog surprised us today with a rare photo of a possible upcoming Roadblock which was one of the two figures that was yanked out of the Hasbro case.  Here is a quote from Birddog: Here’s a picture of the Roadblock I took. Not the best but you can see what he looks like.  Tattoo and all. Good looking figure.  Wish I had been prepared to take more pictures. I just happened to be in the right place at ... Read More »
