The X Reviews: Avengers Movie Hawkeye

We’ll kick off the first of my front page reviews with Marvel’s Hawkeye from the Avengers movie line. I’m not sure what to say offhand, other than I’m feeling a bit underwhelmed. I’m not going to give anything I review high praise unless its warranted. I’m here to tell my point of view, as honestly as I can. You obviously don’t have to agree with me, though! You’ll see why I’m not overjoyed with this figure, obviously, but you’ll either have to cheat and skip to the bottom, or wait till I’ve finished with this review. Either way, why don’t you sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Packaging

The packaging is your basic garden variety. Nothing special. It’s movie specific with an image of the figure on the front and back, pictures of three other figures in the wave, and a short blurb about Hawkeye:

“Plucked from the ranks of S.H.I.E.L.D. because of his extraordinary talents, Clint Barton might seem out-powered by the other Avengers. But only someone who’s never seen him fight would make that assumption. He’s smart and tough enough to take on any of his teammates, and his skill with a bow is unmatched in the world.”

Rather bland for a superhero, if you ask me. At least the comic version has a bit more of a thought out origin. But then again, they didn’t ask my opinion when they set out writing this, so I can’t complain all that much, I suppose!

As you can see, Hawkeye and accessories are nestled safely in the usual bubble packaging, with one transparent elastic band keeping both Hawkeye and the bow-launcher in place. The “arrows” are held in place via small holes in the plastic that they’re fed through.

Price point: $9.99 at my local Target.
