Hah. After working all last weekend, I have a call-in at 10am PST (which is 12noon CST).

I'm working from home today though (as part of my contract originally accommodated for during less-busy days, it's just the first out of 15 that I've been able to take advantage of), and if I somehow manage to "drop the call" I damn well will. ;)

I'm not missing out on FL.

Good to hear. Sounds like my stuff could get shipped today then. :D

Just got off a phone call...someone forgot to tell the Club to turn on the site.

On a side note - has anyone tried using this instead of greenstuff (it's easier to find in my area than Greenstuff)

Doesn't matter, this is going to turn into HTS-post-SDCC. We'll all sit here hitting refresh, and the joke will be that the club won't open for three more days due to unforeseen technical difficulties. The club is terrible about projecting dates for fixing their site. Every email they've ever sent out on the topic has turned out to be wrong.

I see. It's only been more than 2 weeks since SDCC anyway. They'll make great Christmas presents once I get them.

Well, the thing that showed up for about 30 seconds WAS the membership registration, and some shit to the left side bar. So you may be able to sign up, theoretically.

But I am doing it right by clicking the 'Join Now' link...right?

I would stay on the Club store site. There's a membership option thing in the center. Go for the "Third Class" option, not First Class. Whenever the store comes up, that SHOULD be the way you get to purchase the club membership.

Well, looks like they have proper Joe Club sidebar listings and a GI Joe masthead (versus a TF one) but the cumbubbles still haven't gotten the site up, and it's been an hour.

Interesting how when you hit "join now" it takes you to the transformer site. They really are a class act. Have they always had sponsors too?

I liked the sponsors things too. You'd think the 'official' club wouldn't need sponsors.

They really are beautiful. So far, everything took me to the Transformer store. I wonder if these people can even wipe their own ass? Seems it may be complicated. They also still have up a link for that failure of an auction site they tried. Did they really think that making a site just for toy auctions would be big? I'd be interested to know how much of the toys are actually e bays listings and sold.

Official E-mail (this is not a joke.)

This quick update is going out to all members of both clubs.

Also, I forgot to say that we will be turing it on to test the layouts but no products will be available. Please do not try to use it until we give you the go ahead as this will just compound issues.

Thanks for your patience and support,

Brian

What stupid, junior varsity motherfuckers they have running this shit. That is clearly not a simple "oops, we fucked up and didn't tell you when we said the store was going online that it was just a 'test'" apology. That is a "We have no idea what we're doing, yet we send e-mails out anyways" apology.

They're that goddamn incompetent!

Somebody's sister's brother's friend probably helps them out. I'm sure he knows how to work google good enough to set up a web site.

They are seriously the most half-assed "professional" effort at doing anything.

Those contradictory emails make me want to punch more holes in their heads for even e-mailing me that nonsense.

I can't even find that - just TF. :wtf:

Don't freak out. Here's the timeline:

~ Yesterday's e-mail, stating the site would be live today at 12noon CST

~ All day today, the site said "Store Closed" and had a "TF" themed masthead

~12:45: site changed to "Joe" masthead, with new sidebar listings, and membership listings in the middle. This immediately went back to...

~ 12:46: site changed back to what it was before this.

~ 12:55: site changed to Joe masthead, new sidebar.

~ Then went back to the old TF, "store closed" site.

Nothing went up, and then we got the "oh, just kidding!" email from Brian.

I've used something similar, Mighty Putty...the thing is, you have a very small window of time to work with...so you sculpt as much as you can in that time, then after it dries, you do dry sculpting...

Somebody's sister's brother's friend probably helps them out. I'm sure he knows how to work google good enough to set up a web site.

I think the more likely event...they laid off the IT guy along with other staff due to "the economy"....then, someone who was leftover had to pick up the IT guys slack...

"hey, you...do you know how to work on computers?"

*fearing his job is next*

"well, I know how do stuff on Facebook"

"okay, cool...along with the other three jobs you recently took on, you are now also the IT guy..."

"swell!" *considers suicide*

"also, we're cutting your pay again and you'll obviously never have time sleep"

What these people fail to understand is that some customers plan their day around emails like we got yesterday. People who have the ability and desire actually reconfigure their work, errands, etc around being at a computer at time X for such a sale on toys. Mattycollector and HTS have trained us as consumers to work around the website's arbitrary timelines in order to attempt (often in vain) to obtain some desired piece of plastic.

Then to be a colossal no-show, followed by "just kidding, there is no product" really fucks up some people's days.

Just when my anger from cc-gate and login-palooza seems to have subsided, they plumb new depths of unprofessionalism.

Ya gotta wonder who the idiots are in this situation...(hint, I'm in the group too)

Sure, in a way it's sad, but it speaks to our love of the property that we tolerate this kind of shitty treatment as customers. Maybe we're just a glutton for punishment.

Regardless, if I treated the paying customers of my business in this fashion, I'd be closing the doors pretty quickly.

That's what you get when you have a monopoly.
