Those figures are definitely factory defects that guy has got his hands on.

I remember everyone saying the Wave 4 figures they got were not final releases.. and Budo showed up just about as derpy as the ones they showed on eBay. I'm guessing these are on the lower-end side of the retail releases, but I am not expecting anything much better.

Yup, just like Dagobah Luke these things are gonna be fucked.

Not as bad, but "rifle through the peg until you find one that you can live with" will still be the order of the day. Night Viper looks like ass, but there was no way that color combo was gonna work out. If I decide I need LL I'll be BSTing the Starburst Viper.

People that military figures + believable color pallet = dumb? I'm not a fan of the ME Night Viper anyway, so he's working with a double bias against him.

Not sure the source on these, but it looks like someone got some samples early.

G.I. Joe 50th Anniversary Images Including File Cards - GI Joe News

Leatherneck doesn't seem to sport camo on his shirt, but he does on his pants at least. LJ's eyes are more on target, but the apps look like they tried to overcomplicate the eye tampo, by adding lower lashes, pupil/iris, and it just looks blobby.

Funny that Low-Light seems to have two left feet, though. Heh.

Heh...that's how I'm going to advertise my PoC LowLight on eBay now

Comes with a left and a right foot!!!!11111oneoneone

That Lady Jaye figure really is top notch for a Hasbro female...legs aren't skinny, waist doesn't look like it will snap in half...

Destro though...he stands like the Baroness and will need his legs changed out.

When are these supposed to warm pegs again?

Those ST legs give LJ the thunder-thighed look. Which is pretty accurate for your average enlisted split tail. :D

Yeah, the legs actually look good on her.

At actual stores? Pft, good luck with that. The way TRU stocks shit around here? About 5 months past when buyers are interested, then for about 3 years after that. (But only the dreck that nobody would ever want anyways.) I think BBTS listed something like late July-Sept or something like that?

Bazooka needs more than new legs. Where fuck was his epic mustache from the show? He needs a new headscult, a new torso, and a new pair of arms so he can hold guns. In other words, forget 25th Bazooka. There just needs to be a new figure all together.

Also, why is POC Hawk getting re-released? That should have been the concept vault ARAH Gung-Ho. I can't handle all of these weird arbitrary decisions.

Is it wrong that I just can't get excited about any of this? I guess the Arctic BAT looks kinda cool, but I sure don't need any more BATs.

I'd say it's not. Most of it is straight re-releases of existing figures, with a couple of repaints and new parts here and there, Destro being the exclusion.

Gung-Ho being included would have been enough for me to forgive the lazy-ass Baroness, Hawk, Trooper and Low Light, but as it stands it's looking like a fairly Joe-less Summer/Autumn. Oh, well, that just means I'll be giving ducats to the likes of SWG, Vortious and the Angel Forge.

How could anyone think that NV color combo would be good?

At least they got the fleshtone painted on the neck. They skipped that on the Wave 4 version despite it being in all of the promo photos.

But Monkey Wrench, adding Camo would increase production costs by a minute little bit! And we wouldn't want Hasbro investing petty amounts of money to insure quality in the franchise that practically made saved the company from extinction.

I love that Destro and Leatherneck, and as far as repaints go, Beachhead and the blueshirt are a welcome addition. I do find it weird mixing in the POC Hawk, as the majority of this is ARAH-inspired. And why in fuck's name they didn't do the tan Blowtorch instead of yet another rerelease, I'll never know. That figure blows.

Concept Gung-Ho would've sealed the deal for me like KT said, and I'd have rather gotten the Tele-Viper from the Vault instead of that gray Viper. And I don't see the need in the damned gold tampos, that's just weird. What they should've done is given us a blueshirt officer or Stinger driver to match the POC/30th Blueshirt, or a "Viper Officer" with just slight variance instead of an all-gray, I-look-completely-different, shoot-me-now "officer" deco. I've always hated when they've done that. A gold face-plate with a rank patch on the sleeve would suffice.

I'm actually happy for at least half of it, and I got enough of the POC guys the first time around… I don't exactly see the need to rerelease them in a set, especially lame ones like Blowtorch.

I like that they're releasing these again cause it gives me the chance to get those troopers. I just wish they'd produce more shock troopers and invasion troopers.

Yeah, the Shock Trooper would be a better choice than the POC/30th Cobra Trooper. Where the fuck is Shadow Tracker and the Zombie Vipers? If they were going to simply re-release old figures, then they should have at least released the ones some of us (namely me) never had a fucking chance to get the first time around.

Also, shouldn't they have saved "ultimate" Cobra Commander, Storm-Shadow, and Qwinnn for this line instead of releasing them in the predictably lost waves a the tail end of Retaliation? If the point of the "5oth" anniversary line is to pander to ARAH fans, then why didn't they save CC and SS to be put in a 3-pack with Destro, and then put Gung-Ho and Leatherneck in another set. It's like they just throw darts at a wall to determine which figures get released in which toy lines. It feels like they really don't care.

Oh yeah...that's right! almost forgot Zombie Vipers! Pretty much all the army building figures and the figures getting scalped on Amazon and eBay should have been released again. Plus, since they're getting scalped you'd think they'd take notice and want to turn those profits around for themselves. I'd rather pay $10 per figure for army building than give $25-$60 to a scalper for 1 of the last figures around for army building that they've sat on for 2-3 years knowing that the supply would dry up.

Hopefully this 3rd Joe movie will rejuvenate the figure lines with something more than 1-of characters.

Exactly. Although I suspect Hasbro has been having problems getting retailers on board with the brand name.

Hopefully this 3rd Joe movie will rejuvenate the figure lines with something more than 1-of characters.

That brings me to the next thing on my mind. Fuck movies! I am convinced that the Rise of Cobra fucked the brand over because retailers were very fickle about POC and 30th anniversary. Retaliation did not revitalize the brand anymore than ROC, and may have actually made things even worse in light of how Hasbro handled the first two waves of figures and lack of advertising for the toys! The movie got more public attention than the toys. Did kids even know about those figures? If so, did they even want them? Did anyone other than super nerd collectors care?! I am not going to believe that a third movie will revitalize interest in the brand. It would have to be a spectacular with the budget and effects of the newer Transformer movies and there would have to be actual toy commercials to help market the release of the toy line.

G.I. Joe is in the fucking gutter, like starving homeless Vietnam veteran suffering from PTSD and and as far as I'm concerned it's the God damn movie bullshit marketing plan that has done it.

I know exactly what you mean about the movie thing--which is funny because what I said is the opposite of how I really feel about it. But the only thing that would get Joes back into Walmart and Target and wherever else is a movie. I'm not at all for the production of figures in the shadow of movies...cause I like figures regardless... but it might be the only thing to get G.I.Joe back out there on pegs. Then--this may be crazy and far fetched for a company as retarded as the late Hasbro-- but maybe they'd then be able to put out those beloved shock troopers, invasion troopers, zombie vipers, troopers, cobra toxin specialists and more...

...maybe.

...maybe?

Or, you know, they can get their heads out of their asses and just sell straight from online stores. Maybe the Joe fans can make a petition to Hasbro... force them to give us what we want!

This^^

It's nice to actually have something to look forward to again but really, it's just stuff that I already have or don't want. For the most part.

Well I went & first TRU had nothing but old Retaliation figures.
Second TRU had lots of Lowlight/Nightviper & Blowtorch/HEATViper sets.
I got one HEATViper. I'm not a fan of the crimson Night Viper. They should have really just left him green.
They also had 2 Docks sets. I also got one of those.
Besides left over single Retaliation figures they had nothing else.

I got two Lowlight sets, I actually got them for the Lowlights, lol... Anyone want some bright red Targets or should I sell them over at the 'stank? Looks like they're frothing at the mouths over there for them.

Quality sucks bad, from the packaging to the figures. Every single figure was bow-legged inward from the way they are packaged. Destro has the worst put together legs, so they are affected by the bowing more.

Shitty paint-jobs all around, save Beach Head and Low Light. I don't understand why they couldn't cast Leatherneck's face and forearms in flesh tone. The paint looks awful. An otherwise great figure looks so bad.

I'm more miffed about the packaging than the figures, really. This stupid practice of using tape AND the glue? Nice, so either I take off the tape and have this residue on those file cards, or I slice the tape and risk slicing the card if I'm not careful, or having strips of tape on the cards. There is absolutely no care behind this 50th anniversary.

I won't get mine till tmw, but I'm anticipating having to repaint at least 80% of what I get. I don't mind painted flesh, I tend to think it looks more natural and takes the eye paint better too (bare plastic tends to look like the eye paint floats on top) but they are pretty damn sloppy.

I skipped the LL set altogether but the only one I've bought is the HEAT-Viper pack, and I'll damn sure need to repaint all those helmets and most of the purple.

Anyone, who has the Danger at the Docks, is the bigger pair of flippers part of the set? Because i saw a few reviews where they weren't amongst the accsessories in the attached pictures.
